I had one doubt about my files after drm'ing: when I free all of them, I will get generally WMA and WMV files as result.
Well, but if I wanna convert those files in other formats, just like MP3 or AVI (xvid, divx, etc) which programs do you suggest, to have the best quality possible during these convestion between formats? Thanks. |

These tool are a great piece of proggy and many people are using it around the world.
That's nice... but... Micro$oft and maybe other companies soon will notice / realize the program fame and will do some patching engine security to break the FairUse4WM success. ---> http://www.engadget.com/2006/08/25/f...ows-media-drm/ ---> http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/7875.cfm ---> http://www.all-streaming-media.com/f...splay.php?f=25 ---> http://forum.cdfreaks.com/showthread...81#post1527541 ---> http://forum.cdfreaks.com/showthread...4&page=1&pp=25 Please, developers: always be updated ( if it's possible ) against newer DRM craps, ok? Very, very nice tool. If any people who know programming and how to deal with such DRM protection files wanna help, it'll be very nice for the whole community. while this has worked on most of my DRM'd WMA files, there are some that the program doesnt seem to notice the Key. it opens WMP, plays the file, but never closes.
when i manually close WMP, the program gives me this error: Unhandled situation -9000 while Creating Windows Media instance. any ideas? i have the license for the file, and WMP can play it just fine. because of issues i've had to deal with after doing a clean install of Windows, i dont want to mess with its DRM any more. |

At first I had the Blackbox.DLL error. So I went to the posted URL, and it did not give me the button to upgrade. So I tried one of the Demo files from EZDRM.com - They would not download. Then I realised I was using Firefox ( I knew I was using it, I just forgot that MS does not like it...) So I went back to the URL with Innernet Exploiter and did the update. Then I got an Error: Panic! At The Disco - I Write Sins Not Tragedies.WMA UNABLE TO DECRYPT: Size Error: 5217873102 cannot be truncated to 922905806. So then I went to EZDRM and downloaded one of the "Free DRM" vidoes - FairUse worked very well at that. I tried the test audio file again and got the same error again. Before posting all that, I wanted to make sure I was not trying a video only proggie for audio DRM... I did say I was new to DRM |

Bug reports
Just to drop in to say that I am aware of the following issues
1. DRMv1 support is more common than I believed. This is being addressed. I believe this to be at the root of some "odd" behavior 2. Panda's problem involves extra data appended at the end of some WMA files. Truncating these files to the length in the File Properties Object should fix the problem. If anyone can find what this data is used for, if anything, it'd help. Thanks for the find, Panda. Thank you all for your feedback. Last edited by viodentia; 28th August 2006 at 15:22. |

Once FairUse4WM have work so many times, it's easier for people to relate bugs and help for later program's improvement.
More than that: once people could have solve that DRM restrictive environment, other programers can study and create similar engines that are able to deal with such "protections". Just like happen with dvd's in the past: once Macrovision/CSS were removed by DVD-Jon and other people, these make possible some other programers be able do the same and many softwares were created after that. I just wish many other people have time and talent/knowledge to improve more and more FairUse4WM and /or create similar tools that can do the same: un-drming skills. PS: any FairUse4WM update or improvement, let us know. Thanks, folks. Last edited by johner23; 28th August 2006 at 14:22. |

It's suddenly stopped working for me?
All my licenses are working as I can play my protected DRM video files, individulized my player and all I get is: Windows Error 80030002 while DRM_HDS_OpenStore This is on every file that I now try, but before it worked? What is the problem here, anyone know? *UPDATE* Solved the problem! Installed WMP10 and it still complained with same message as above, but after deleting the DRMSTORE.HDS file and re-acquiring my licenses again everything went like clockwork Last edited by Web Junkie; 28th August 2006 at 15:39. |

The error 80030002 means that it can't be opened, either because another program has it exclusively locked, or that it doesn't exist. Please send me a directory listing of your "All Users"\"DRM" directory (use "dir /a" since the files are usually hidden) |

I fixed the problem, see the update in post #35!
The file was already present and not locked. Used a tool called Unlocker 1.8.4 to see if the file was locked and it wasn't, so no reason for Fairuse to not read it, unless of course it was corrupt somehow? |

Why do i get error 9000 ...
When I use the tool I get a messagebox with the title "Unable to recover private key" and message text "Unhandled situation -9000 while Creating Windows Media instance."
The tool starts, I select a demo file downloaded from ezdrm.com, WMP starts, the video plays, the video ends, I close WMP and the messagebox appears. repeated trials show that the messagebox doesn't appear until WMP is closed. WMP version 10.00.00.4306 Windows XP Pro SP2 |

-9000
The error -9000 is a generic catch-all that just means that Wmplayer exitted before the program could find the keys in memory.
Verify that your system is individualized, and please post the version information (right-click) from "indivbox.key" in "All Users"\DRM directory. |
