There is a problem with the update that has been there since day one. I dont know if its been discussed before. I get an error on every update. It tries to execute the multiAVCHD.exe but it cant because its not there. I usually have to run the update.exe again manually for it to create the multiAVCHD.exe

(RT) Application error multiAVCHD.exe cannot be executed - Line 67

Build 687:

Ok, another cool feature added:

[fit all] button added in media tab. You can see its functions in the screenshot above.

This is a one-click 'transcode all' button, which allows you to:

* Select output media (different sizes are listed + a custom one, which you can set in Author tab)

Selected sizes:
Code:
  980 MiB [1 GB USB]
 1980 MiB [2 GB USB]
 3900 MiB [4 GB USB/SDHC]
 4480 MiB [DVD-5]
 7800 MiB [8 GB USB/SDHC]
 7950 MiB [DVD-9]
15600 MiB [16 GB USB/SDHC]
23800 MiB [BD-25]
*HDD* MiB [KEEP SAME BITRATE]
***** MiB [CUSTOM SIZE SET IN AUTHOR TAB]
* Encoding quality
* Hard subtitles
* Resizing of 1920x1080 if the new bitrate is too low for quality transcoding
* Option to change framerate, so output will be compatible with PAL/NTSC locked players (like Viera TV sets)
* For better quality and higher bitrates it is best to use "Title properties" and remove all unwanted subtitle and audio tracks, to save bitrate for the video.

Using this screen will make multiAVCHD:

* auto-uncrop and resize all non-compliant resolutions, including SD 720x480/720x576
* auto-deinterlace or interlace the output
* resize+uncrop all weird resolutions, such as trailers or DivX half-HDTV recordings (like 624x352 or similar)

In the screenshot above I loaded an AVCHD folder with 11 titles, sized almost 45GiB.

I chose "Destination media: 23800MiB [BD-25]" and after bitrate recalculation and 'auto-transcode" settings, here is what multiAVCHD sets for transcoding, so this whole 45GiB compilation will fit a BD25:

Since some of the titles get lower bitrates for transcoding, they're auto set for resizing (because of the 1920x1080->1280x720 option).

Few other bugs are fixed (and may be some exist in this new option - so report them).

Hi!

Make sure you have created a main folder named MultiAVCHD in the ROOT directory of your drive (Do NOT put the "MultiAVCHD" directory in another directory)...

Another addition (requested) before 687 is released:

It is now possible to move both "scroll-list" and "chapter-thumbnails" in XMB styled menu:

Thanks, it would seem it's not a firewall issue but the way the app handles directorys during updates. You may want to take a look at that deank.

There is nothing special about directories and updates...
multiUPDATE uses the current path (the one it is located in), downloads the updated multiAVCHD.rar/.bin/.exe or whatever it finds and then simply launches it. All happens in the current folder. I tested with different locations - never had a problem as many other people do not have issues with it. It works in c:\program files\.... works in d:\multiavchd ... in c:\bla-bla bla - no matter what the names is and how many spaces there are.

***

Few fixes in 687+:

* Fixed importing of Blu-ray playlists/structures (some playlists caused multiAVCHD to loop and load m2ts files, which are not needed)
* Fixed 'fit-all'
* Fixed error with 'bitrate-suggestions' dialog when input file has no detected duration
* Added two small buttons to increase/decrease fontsize of the log messages
* Fixed hard-burned subtitles offset for PS3 output (going a bit far up than needed)
* Few other tweaks

I have just had a play with this and I had a couple of questions which I'm sure are buried in the last couple of thousands of posts.

I am reading in a HD-DVD structure to re-author as a blu-ray disc (on bd-9). Everything reads in fine but the main movie is obviously split across two 'feature' files. It doesn't look like the programme is automatically going to join them to one file on the blu-ray - is there a join function or will it in fact actually realise this and do it automatically? With everything setup, when I 'Start' and select the output options I immediately get a 'divide by zero error on line...' - obviously the programme works and it's my configuration causing the issue but is this likely to be because the directory isn't in the root?

I never said multiAVCHD will accept an HD-DVD structure and will reauthor it as BDMV. It will however import .EVO files and each file goes out as a title.

You can use eac3to to join the features and then import the result in multiAVCHD. Since I don't have a sample with 'feature_1...2...3', I wouldn't know what the result would be. I also think that EVOdemux can do it too.

And you said you get an error, but didn't say the most important (for me) - the line number where it occurred.

Build 689:

* External and Internal audio tracks are merged into one property-box
* Additional tab "Other audio" will appear if multiAVCHD is unable to detect audio properties (like some MLP or DTS tracks)
* It is now possible to configure external audio tracks processing (delay, language ID, Core extraction for HD audio, etc...)
* [x] Post-process SRT/SSA option added in Author tab. It will use BDsup2sub for reprocessing of the final SUP/PGS subtitles muxed into the video, using proper and compliant subtitle resolutions (720x480, 720x576, 1280x720, 1440x1080 and 1920x1080). Option is turned on by default and will fix the bug in tsMuxeR, which causes it to put PAL 576i subtitles at the wrong offset (same as for 480i videos).
* External audio tracks sizes/properties are now taken into account for bitrate-estimations
* Elementary video streams sizes/properties are now taken into account for bitrate-estimations

* uncropMKV is updated to 1.3 to support the same encoding profiles as in multiAVCHD

* x264.exe is updated to r1222 in full packages of multiAVCHD and uncropMKV

***

Since build 688, multiAVCHD is distributed in installer version (using Nullsoft NSIS). Installer package includes Avisynth, ffdshow and Haali splitter for those who don't have or want to reinstall these applications. It also comes with uninstall function + shortcuts for multiAVCHD, multiUPDATE and uncropMKV.

Sorry if this is obvious...where or is there an option to specify the # of chapters? I can see how to add them by using the slider and hitting the add button, but is there a box where you just add the # you wish?

EDIT:

Nevermind, used the search function and found my answer.

Thanks for the evodemux tip. The error I'm getting after a short(ish) time is:

(RT) Floating point division by zero - Line 10183 - on build 689

The error you get is caused when you transcode something?

It errors out probably because x264+avisynth simply do nothing. Use multiUPDATE.exe now to update for the fix and try again. I guess it will still do not transcode your source, but at least it won't crash.

Yes it keeps going but on both sources I've tried it's the main movie it fails to transcode. It says that tsmuxer didn't like it.

I just wanted to let it finish. The file 'Feature' is created by evomuxer from 'Feature1' and 'Feature2'. Without being a rocket-scientist it looks like all of the 1920 ones failed whereas the 720 were fine. Here's the top of the file.

Yes it did fix my problem.

I don't know what to say dean, but for what ever reason the update process did have a issue when I had multiAVCHD folder in a folder named MKV_TO_BLUERAY.

On another note I have a problem with undersized final output. Two different projects have been off by 500mb and 700mb. They were 720 and 1080 projects of mkv with dts keeping dts as is. It was also two pass normal and two pass fast.

For some reason x264 and avisynth do not work for the failed ones. I'd also suggest you to try removing some unneeded titles.

On another note I have a problem with undersized final output. Two different projects have been off by 500mb and 700mb. They were 720 and 1080 projects of mkv with dts keeping dts as is. It was also two pass normal and two pass fast.
I'll do another encode tonight to check again with the DTS but so far I get 99% close results.

Last few nights I transcoded something set for 4480MiB and got 4441MiB final output, which is pretty close to 100% (no DTS audio there, just AC3 and 10 extras along the main movie + few 'interpol warnings'.

And you got 500MB off for what destination size? For 700MiB or for 25000?

I renamed my multiAVCHD folder to MKV_TO_BLURAY and started multiUPDATE.exe, so here is what I got:

1) Successful update
2) Successful launch of the updated exe

Code:
[02:12:24] Destination path does not exist!
[02:12:24] Changed to: D:\MKV_TO_BLURAY\AVCHD\
[02:12:25] Destination path does not exist!
[02:12:25] Changed to: D:\MKV_TO_BLURAY\AVCHD\
[02:12:25] Initialising...
[02:12:26] Destination path does not exist!
[02:12:26] Changed to: D:\MKV_TO_BLURAY\AVCHD\
[02:12:26] Checking for new version...
[02:12:26] You have the latest build.
[02:12:26] Your multiAVCHD.exe was just updated!
[02:12:26] File consistency check finished!
[02:12:26] Initialisation finished. multiAVCHD is ready!
And btw, it is Blu-ray, not BluE-ray. :-) May be that's why it didn't work

I believ the problem arises when set for "AUTOMATIC update" (from within the active multiAVCHD)...

Setting was to DVD-9 size.

I was using RipBot to get my bitrate size before and it was pretty spot on. I would usually knock off about 150mb for the authoring size increase multiAVCHD has.

Just to compare with one file, RipBot states for DVD9 output bitrate at 9269 and multiAVCHD states 8469.
This is a single title project with only a basic menu. This is the one that came out 7,791,305,457 bytes
