ReMPEG2 and severe audio / video sync
I'm having a severe audio / video sync problem using ReMPEG2. In my latest attempt, the program generated an audio file that was 6:09 long but the video was only 4:55 long. The audio seemed to be running at the proper rate and this was confirmed when I verified that the VOB file had a duration of 6:09. What's going on?
Here's the details of what I did. SOURCE: Created a VOB file from an NTSC DVD by using SmartRipper's option for creating VOB files based on chapters. I removed all subpicture streams and extra audio streams leaving me with the video (1 angle source) and the main english audio track. Then I pulled out a compressed MPEG-2 video stream and the audio stream with ReMPEG2. VIDEO: These are the settings on the ReMPEG2 Options tab Scale factor: 59% Output Res: 720x480 Frame Mode: Match Source Search Technique: Prediction Half Pel: Checked Brightness: 0 High Quality Scaling: Checked Integer DCT (faster): Selected Calculate PSNR: Checked Show RC Info: Checked Use ISSE: Checked Priority: HIGH AUDIO: AC3->MPEG-2 Audio Transcoder Bitrate: 384kbs VERSIONS AND SYSTEM INFO: ReMPEG2 - 1.5.2 SmartRipper - 2.41 Windows 98-SE AMD 1.6GHz 512MB RAM 8GB free disk space Thanks for any tips. The video output looks great, but it needs to run at the proper speed! :-) Steve |
