Grainy Green dots on newly formated computer...

Hey,

I just had my computer formated and I am getting little green dots on SOME .avi's, wmv's, and mpgs. I have never seen this before. This is even before I installed the codec pack from doom9.

Does anyone know what this is?

It's normally a form of hardware problem (but if you've only reformated and no new/touched hardware, then it's hard to explain)...Closest I've seen to this problem before can be found here:
