BD burner and BD-R discs.

Google is your friend. A 6x BD-R/2x BD-RE combo burner by LG you can get for $199.99 from newegg.com, but the sales ends today.

As for BD-R 25GB single sided discs, the cheapest I've found is about $3.29 each (I've seen them slightly cheaper at times). Obviously not as cheap as DVD media, but look at the capacity vs DVD-9. I get mine from mediamegamall.com
but pay a 20 cents more so that I can have the inkjet printable ones. These are Optical Quantum 2x and have had no issues playing back on my PS3 and not one coaster yet...knock on wood!

Maybe we should start some type of "Deals on Blu-ray media and Burners" thread or maybe added to the guides for sources of media.

Hi!

I have a problem with "The Prestige", German version.

Full Backup to BD25.

I get english audio, when choosing german, and german audio when choosing spanish. Its the same, when choose language via menu oder via PowerDVD directly.

In BD-RB 20.03 and 20.05 the same behaviour.

For the main movie the audio settings are:
[x]AUD_001 AC3 MuliCh Eng
[x]AUD_002 AC3 2-Ch Eng
[ ]AUD_003 AC3 MuliCh French
[ ]AUD_004 AC3 MuliCh Spanish

Make sure that is your problem (remember when rebuilding BD-Rebuilder can need anywhere up to 25-30GB spare room during the rebuild phase).

...Ummmmm...Uninstall some games lol?

I got the same problem with Man on Fire as BlackJack1, it seems as though it was a poorly mastered encode, because if you cut the last few mins of credits of, and rerun it though bdrb it works perfectly

Using V0.20.04 tried Bolt and Transformers.
The BD-RB finished successfully but it wont play on Panasonic BD35

Menu is O.K and the sound is O.K, but there is no picture.
Works perfectly on the PC and on Sony 350 .

Are you cutting credits first using tsMuxer? And save it as blu-ray structure or m2ts file?

x.264 constantly crashing

I've backed up about 12 movies thus far and this program has been great. Lately, I've been getting a lot of x264 crashes either at the beginning or at the end when it's trying to rebuild everything. Are my settings wrong or something? I'm not going to claim to know a bunch about this whole process but I have been following here for a while and have been trying to learn as much as I can. This is what BDRB looks like after crash:

[20:55:58] BD Rebuilder v0.20.05 (beta)

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong, other than being a big noob?

Thanks all...

HI jr08toy.

Try changing H.264 in ffdsow to ffmpeg-mt from libavcodec and retry from start.

it won't let me. it's libavcodec or disabled for options. I'm using rev2787 20090317. Is there a newer version I should be using?

Alright...
I installed the new update and tried to reencode WAR and I get the same thing:

Here is the Command Window output:

Code:
Aften: A/52 audio encoder
Version SVN
(c) 2006-2007 Justin Ruggles, Prakash Punnoor, et al.

Found PCM audio: 8 channels, 48000 Hz, 16 bits, 6180.220000 seconds.
Warning: WAV file will be larger than 4 GB.
Writing WAV file...
input format: Microsoft WAVE Signed 16-bit little-endian 48000 Hz multi-channel
Unsupported # of channels passed to aften_wav_chmask_to_acmod
mismatch in channels, acmod, and lfe params
Error: Could not write to the standard output.
Movie only/BD-25 Keeping HD/Trellis disabled/Quicker encode for extras/ENG on both language options

Any clues?

Hi jr08toy,

I had the same kind of problems.

So what i did was REMOVE ALL CODECS FROM MY SYSTEM. REBOOTED. INSTALLED ONLY FFDSHOW , AVISYNTH V 258, AND HALI SPLITTER.

I`ve now had no errors at all and all working fine.

I`m running vista ultimate 32 bit.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards.

BUG...

I'm doing a backup of Pirates of The Carribean, keeping HD audio. In this case LPCM. Here is a copy of my AUD_00001.meta file for 00001.m2ts (which will contain the main movie).

Quote:
MUXOPT --no-pcr-on-video-pid --new-audio-pes --demux --vbr --vbv-len=500
A_LPCM, "D:\BLURAY\PIRATES1_DEU\BDMV\STREAM\00001.m2ts", track=4352, lang=eng
A_AC3, "D:\BLURAY\PIRATES1_DEU\BDMV\STREAM\00001.m2ts", track=4353, lang=eng
S_HDMV/PGS, "D:\BLURAY\PIRATES1_DEU\BDMV\STREAM\00001.m2ts", fps=23.976, track=4608, lang=eng
S_HDMV/PGS, "D:\BLURAY\PIRATES1_DEU\BDMV\STREAM\00001.m2ts", fps=23.976, track=4609, lang=eng
S_HDMV/PGS, "D:\BLURAY\PIRATES1_DEU\BDMV\STREAM\00001.m2ts", fps=23.976, track=4614, lang=eng
Which is correct, however here is the contents of MUX_00001.meta...

Quote:
MUXOPT --no-pcr-on-video-pid --new-audio-pes --blu-ray --vbr --auto-chapters=5 --vbv-len=500
V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC, "D:\BLURAY\BD WORK 2\WORKFILES\VID_00001.AVS.264", fps=23.976, insertSEI, contSPS
A_AC3, "D:\BLURAY\BD WORK 2\WORKFILES\AUD_00001_4352.AC3", lang=eng
A_AC3, "D:\BLURAY\BD WORK 2\WORKFILES\00001.track_4353.AC3", lang=eng
S_HDMV/PGS, "D:\BLURAY\BD WORK 2\WORKFILES\00001.track_4608.sup", fps=23.976, lang=eng
S_HDMV/PGS, "D:\BLURAY\BD WORK 2\WORKFILES\00001.track_4609.sup", fps=23.976, lang=eng
S_HDMV/PGS, "D:\BLURAY\BD WORK 2\WORKFILES\00001.track_4614.sup", fps=23.976, lang=eng

Which is incorrect, it looks like the HD audio retention switch hasn't worked as when I open the 00001.m2ts, instead of an LPCM track I am greeted by a 448k AC3 5.1 track. I have double checked and HD audio was selected, the same behaviour was exhibited on the sequel Pirates of The Carribean 2.

The only thing that I did that might not be considered "normal", was to cancel the encode on the 1st pass and restart it from where it left off (after demuxing).

EDIT

I think I might have found why this is happening...and the bug is quite simple...

If you look here, you can see 2 m2ts files. The 1st one in view is an EXTRA. The 2nd is the main movie m2ts, BD-Rebuilder is treating this 1st one in view as part of the main movie I suspect because it is over a certain size. But it IS an EXTRA. I can tell BD-Rebuilder is treating it as an extra because it is doing a 2pass encode on it when I have "quicker encoding for extras" turned on which should be 1pass. Also the m2ts's before this one that aren't visible in the screenshot were all encoded with 1pass as they should be. There is NO LPCM audio in this 1st one in view, so I suspect BD-Rebuilder is using the statistics of the extra's m2ts streams as the base for remuxing, and also as a base for setting the overall bitrate of the REAL main movie m2ts with this false assumption that the the audio streams are same.

This shouldn't be too hard to correct as the bad juju that is happening is purely a knock on effect from the incorrect assumption that this 6GB extra is part of the main movie?

Problms with Der ewige Gärtner

Hi,

i've found an issue reencoding the blu ray der ewige gärtner.

I'Ve done a move only backup using the following settings:
Code:

  - Source: GAERTNER
  - Input BD size: 29,21 GB
  - Approximate total content: [02:08:29.743]
  - Target BD size: 22,90 GB
  - MOVIE-ONLY mode enabled

 - [19:05:38] Reencoding: VID_00005 (2 of 2)
 - [19:05:42] DoEncoding() 00009  8
This Problem always occurs, when using movie only backup which consits out of more than one movie file.
Same movie works fine when using DVD Size as target Size

Can someone give me an idea about the error:

CorrectMPLS() 00009 5

I have just done Mummy Returns Region B to bd-9 full disc and right at the very end I get this.

I can't see anything obviously missing in the structure.

Not doing too well today. I have done The Devil Wears Prada and everything was fine and I burned a bd-9. I played it on a standalone and thought I might have a disc fault as about half way throught the film the pictures freezes but the audio continues. I checked the image on the hard disc and that was the same, but as expected the original and rip were fine.
