Matroska?

does GK have native support for it? if not will it ever be there?

It does not, currently. It uses Nandub/VirtualDubMod/AviMux for encoding and muxing, which are AVI tools.

to answer the 2nd part of your question, yes there's going to be matroska support in the next release.

but if gk uses vdubmod and nandub, i think it is able to create MKVs because i didn't have a problem to create an MKV file in VirtualDubMod manually.

nandub is only used for divx3 codec support

before ogm and matroska are going to be fully supported there have to be things like the different overhead clearified
