I perhaps agree that a general driver issue should really be migrated onto a more general thread, perhaps we can once we've flushed it out a bit more. However this is only affecting MADVR and so should remain here for now I feel, regarless of whether it only affects NAVi cards or not. We've had 90% NVIDIA discussion for months now, I feel you need to let us AMD users have this one.

This is not how anything works. Someone else did something wrong, so we get to do more wrong? No.
This is not a competition between NVIDIA and AMD who gets to spam more stuff into the madVR thread.

If you want to get madshi's attention, you should keep this topic as clean as possible, and discuss your driver/card issues elsewhere, and when you collect all the facts and reach a conclusion, you can summarize it here.
Trust me, he is far more likely to gloss over back-and-forth driver discussion and just stamp it away as a "driver issue", and more likely to actually read a succinct summary post.

where I tend to agree, its MADVR users that we need to engage and this is where most of them reside, not the general AMD user. As youknow I tried creating a general thread for this very purpose but there just isnt enough people monitoring it, so we're back here.

I dont think MADSHI is engaged with this thread at all at the moment do I dont think it matters at all how or what we discuss, for once though we're actually discussing a problem in MADVR instead of comparing green vs red or OLED vs LCD.

I personaly think this is a valid discussion topic for this thread.

If you say so... I think it's more likely that he will not respond in any way, and I'm on nvidia so this question does not concern me directly.

Hi, that shader does the trick, couple of questions,

what does that tell us about the problem, does this mean its definately an API issue and we can take this straight to AMD and have them fix it, has anyone tried this yet?

If this indeed an API problem I dont understand how one owner of a 5700 can have a problem in MADVR and another doesnt.

Yes, I tried. This shader fixed the colors.

i meant has anyone tried logging a fault to AMD based on this fix in that we appear to know exactly what the problem is now?

My poor English will not allow me to correctly describe the essence of the issue. If you prepare a text, I will prepare materials using HDFury.

Sorry, no idea about that. I only identified the problem and it occurred to me how to solve it. It has been said that it happens because some AMD drivers get confused with the gamut flag placed by madVR, but I don't know. But if this doesn't happen with the EVR, then it's an issue with madVR not with the drivers.

The shader can be automated in terms of the resolution of the video, for example to work only with videos with a height greater than 1080.

Perhaps he has an old AMD driver installed - 19.4.3 and earlier.
Picture.

drivers support for 5700 started a 19.7.1 so it cant be that unfortunately.

I cant log a fault at the moment I cant get to my GFX serial number as I cant take my card out until the weekend at the earliest.

Speaking of Adrenalin, you could maybe lay off the 4 posts in a row. This feels like the full "overblown reds" saga again.

Its madVR, Driver, madVR, driver....I know it needs its own thread, 38 posts later....

Use the timing details of that resolution-refreshrate combo and create it with CRU and check if the TV supports it.

Speaking of refresh rates, which option is better - to overclock your display with higher refresh rate and leave it to be the default example 72 Hz, or make a lower refresh rate like 48 Hz and set madvr to switch it when the playback starts?
