Hi Madshi!

You have indicated in the latest version that we can track on why refresh rate optimization is not working in certain instances. How do we do this?

I can't get optimization working on my setup either (0.92.4). I can create the modes (after going back to defaults in both madVR and Nvidia CP), but optimization never returns results no matter how long I run the player. The modes work as created, but optimization doesn't.

Win81x64 with Intel KBL i5 7200U/HD620

continued from : https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.p...24#post1819924

I installed the Intel driver 154519.4678 (zip version) by copying this patched inf (https://mega.nz/#!C811WayR!n6l6R1qW4...yGTxXDaNcEkabA) into the grafics folder and installing manually the driver by choosing this inf; driver signatures of windows must be deactivated;

2D and 3D playback is flashing back (jumping); 2D every 3-4 sec; 3D more, maybe every 2 sec.; if I go from full screen to a window, flashing is constantly present (both in the x64 and x32 versions of the software packages); I have done some screenshots again and used the TracerTool (maybe it helps);

it would be very nice to have it run under Win81
Thanks

Cool, it worked. In fact anything other than native DXVA/D3D11 works. Thanks.

Out of pure curiosity, could you try with these settings:

Had a similar issue with SkyLake iGPU, this worked for me, dont ask me why, got no idea, i just wonder if it resolves your issue.

P.S. Just to be clear, i was not getting any dropped frames, i was just getting screen flashing.

It defaults to whatever you specify, sounds like you're not setting up your rules correctly?

The first profile in the list is used if none of the profile rules are valid. This can be thought of as the default profile.

Does anybody know where to find pixel settings in the latest AMD Crimson software 17.9.2?

I want to make sure it's still on RGB Full but it seems with almost every AMD Crimson update settings have dissapeared or otherwised moved.

If it's of interest with anyone with an NVIDIA, Windows 1703 and issues with RGB Full on HDMI to a TV (in this case a Panasonic plasma): I've found a (tedious) workaround to my problem: every time the graphics card causes the TV to resync, i.e. restart or wake up from sleep or change of refresh rate etc., I need to go to NVIDIA Control Panel => Adjust desktop colour settings, and change the Content type reported to the display setting. It actually doesn't matter what I change it to and it has no effect at all on the TV not even a resync, but when I change it to anything other than the current value it magically fixes the levels in RGB Full!
This is definitely a bug with the NVIDIA driver because when I boot into Safe mode or if I uninstall all drivers and switch back to the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter then the levels are always OK.
I tried updating to 385.69 but it didn't fix the problem either so I'm going to file another bug report to NVIDIA with that additional information.
I've also tried every possible combination of setting possible for that HDMI Content Type option between the TV and the NVIDIA Control Panel and nothing makes the levels stick.

Works fine, what do you specifically want tested?

Does native D3D11VA + high quality madVR settings work well?
I got some hopes in D3D11VA with AMD drivers, since they are usually really bad at supporting older stuff like DXVA2 and so was my experience with a R9 390.

Nevermind, I forgot to plug my projector in on HDMI port of GPU. The settings are there now.

There are no best settings, please read the forum rules.

My settings (linked at the end of the post linked in my signature) are good for downscaling 4K to 1080p, or any other scaling ratio, at least I like them.
