Bug report.
Entering 1080p60 in custom display switching in MadVR results in two instances of madHcCtrl in Task Manager. MPC (any version I think) crashes because of this. It only happens on the secondary display. If I open MPC on the main PC display and hit play it only loads one instance of MadVR. 1080p23 only loads one instance on any display. Just tested with 0.58 which does not exhibit this behaviour. OK I've looked a little deeper and it appears to be that in 0.61 when switching to 60Hz from another refresh rate MadVR is not releasing the previous instance or is loading a new instance of madHcCtrl. If the display is already set to 60Hz it only loads one instance. In 0.58 when it switches there only ever remains a single instance of madHcCtrl. Last edited by oddball; 13th May 2011 at 08:14. |

If your display refresh rate is higher then the video frame rate, madVR will need to repeat a frame once in a while to keep sync with audio in check. If your refresh rate is lower then the audio, it'll have to drop frames.
If you do not see them, then don't worry too much about it. Maybe madVR will at some point be able to track repeated frames as well, which would give you an indication if the estimated statistic was right.

my refresh rate for 23.976 is 23.977 so i would have thought that the repeated frames would be a lot less tham every few minutes? |

Every ~9.5 minutes, if my calculation isn't totally off.

If you let ReClock do its job, then yes, it'll make that better.

How do you get subtitles when using madVR. I have MPC-HC 3104 (x86) and madVR 0.61 and I just can't get subtitles to work. The .srt file has the same file name and is in the same folder but still it doesn't load, and when I drag and drop the .srt file into the MPC-HC window, playback stops and it says 'cannot render the file'.
Help. |

Yes but you need a powerful system to run MadVR + realtime frame interpolation. (if by frame interpolation you meant something like frame doubling)
Check out InterFrame

madshi, I have 1080i59, 1080p23, and 1080p50 in that order, in the auto rate change options. When I play a 59/60p video, madVR switches to the 23p option. Is it supposed to work that way? I'd rather have it switch to 1080i59. I don't have 1080p59 in the options cause I'd rather have the 29.97 fps videos play at 1080i59, and if I have 1080p59 there, 1080i gets ignored in its favor.
