Xmuxer can be usefull for demuxing nontypical TS streams as can be seen on this picture

Sample 34MB with multiaudio tracks was recorded with SkyView .

sample

Sample can be played with VLC Player with possibilty to set required audiotrack to play it back.

There is also multiplexed additional PID 0012 EIT carring all data about songs /all/ from that transponder with title, singer, album data, timing and so on.

Task to do: demux individual audiotrack and split that tracks to individual songs with all data connected with this song.

BTW SkyView can record songs as individual pieces with apropiate header but only from one PID.

All the Xmuxer Pro I have used always have problems with the software and full of bugs. The same goes for MainConcept Encoders (on MPEG2 works fine).

The Idea behind Xmuxer is terrific, if it could only work as it should it would be a great program.

Am not alone, go thru their forums and you'll be amazed how buggy are their programs and their poor customer support.

To prove my point I am using Elecard XMuxer Pro 2.2.70328 I just want to mux AVC+AC3.

Everything good so far. Look what happens when I press start.
--------------------------------------------------------
nothing happens after 5 minutes. Then a quick look at Task Manager reveals "NOT RESPONDING".

If any Xmuxer PRO can mux a AVC+AC3 let me know.

Youd didn't add the AC3 across to the right panel. I don't know if that's why it hung but still...

Thanks Neuron2, I know the pictures show that but I added them both. You can try it on your PC, I have used about five different versions of Xmuxer Pro. Their two different AVC plugins and its impossible to mux AVC & AC3 to create a .ts file.

When I record a .ts video that has errors thats when I run it through MPEGRepair 1.0.1.5 -> Xmuxer Pro to Remux the stream. Then try to fix the audio with AC3 Delay Cut -> BeSliced (Fix). Other than that I never use Xmuxer. That's only if I can't get the video on a re-run (like the Super Bowl).

Remux an MPEG2 file to me it works.
Mux has never worked (AVC & AC3) ofcourse, because if is MPEG2 I rather use Womble VCR to mux. To Demux!!, what better than your master piece DG MPG Dec.

Now, I don't have a use for Xmuxer Pro. All my sources are MPEG2 and I rather use millions of apps out there. When DirecTVHD moves to AVC then I'll give it a try to edit out commercials but till then I leave this app as the last resort.

Just out of curiosity, why on earth would you need Xmuxer Pro?

Dear Toti,

Please upload on any ftp your test files which you could not multiplex in Elecard XMuxer Pro. Or upload this files on ours ftp (ftp.elecard.com, user name:uploader, password: ybrjveybrf, tkmyjcnm, file size must be more than 25Mb). It will help us to define a problem.

Best Regards
Konstantin.

For me personally, I need a muxer for combining AVC and audio (various formats) to create test streams for my company's silicon decoders and to create streams for demos at shows such as CES. But since I was given a very good in-house-created muxer by one of our customers, I don't need to use XMuxer Pro or Manzanita anymore. Don't ask for it; I cannot distribute it.

Hi.
Is the HDV MPEG2 streams (.m2t) supported (for trimming)?
Is it possible to preserve TS structure and PIDs?

hi neuron2, i also to work for similar company which design and research STB with various decoders and we have horrible problems with lack of reliable muxer/demuxer especialy for new codecs. We have adherent, tektronix, manzanita muxers/demuxers and all of these tools have similar problems and many of bugz. Maybe you cann't distrubute but You can say name of company which can distribiute such useful tools?
On market is big hole - lack of good tools, lack of good muxer/demuxer...
Even very high priced tools (Tektronix) are very poor in quality...

It wouldn't help you to know that because they don't sell this tool. They made it for in-house use and kindly supplied it to us on a non-disclosure basis.
