Media Player Classic (patched build)

First of all:
I am not the creator/developer of Media Player Classic.

Gabest, the author of Media Player Classic, stopped with the development of his player in May 2006. Since then various patches started floating around here on Doom9 to fix a few bugs in MPC. Those patches included a few security fixes. All these patches have been bundled and a new project called Guliverkli2 was created so that the patched code is easily accessible to the general public. Since then I have also backported a few fixes/updates/improvements from MPC-HC project and made a few tiny tweaks.

Guliverkli2 project page with downloads, source code, etc.

I am NOT going to fix any bugs.

However, if people submit patches, then I might consider applying them. But unless people contribute, this project is pretty much dead!

I am not a C++ programmer. I have not read the code. I am not familiar with the code of MPC. So don't bother asking me about the code.

If you want to submit a bug report or feature request, then go visit the The Media Player Classic Home Cinema topic. That project is still in active development.

not working (p4 2.8 northwood, 1gb ram, winxp pro)

i launch mplayerc.exe (all alone in a folder) and got this message (i try to traslate in english)

Impossible to start application. The configuration of application is incorrect. A new installation could resolve the problem.

the file is 4182016 bytes

The same issue by me (has just finished checking), with exactly the same message (thanks to buzzqw I didn't have to translate it from polish ).

Tried both leaving the old configuration as an *.ini file and as registry keys.

Edit:
It seems that MPC fails if the MSVC80 runtimes are not present.

Works for me (XP SP2)

Started it up and played an mkv (both internal and external splitter) AVC/AAC with external SSA subs loaded and working.

Might want to add a link to the VC 80 Redist in the first post. Not that easy to find for people.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

Thanks in advance
I must have missed the runtimes, since it can't be any Vista's devilry (XP Professional SP2 on board )

The new v2 works like charm - thanks a bunch!

You can laugh yourselves to death, but the new icon really does the trick!
I saw a similar one once, with an old MPC build included in QuickTime Alternative. Since then I have had to cope with the nasty the most compact among compact icons icon.

The icon was changed with ResHacker. Same trick can be used for other progs that have ugly low res icons.

This version of MPC also freezes when trying to play DVD (or any VOB-file) with Haali's Video Renderer (03/06/2007) as output. No such problems with Zoom Player WMV Pro v5.00 and Haali's Video Renderer (03/06/2007), so I think it is MPC problem, not Haali's Video Renderer bug.

Maybe. Haali is the expert. Maybe he can comment on why the freeze occurs.

Thanks for the MPC update. XP-Theme does not work over here. Can you fix it?

Yeah, thanks. It took me a while to figure out how to make the MPC internal sub filter work though, but that's my fault as I didn't read your changelog carefully.

PS: Your build wants d3dx9_22.dll when using anything pixel shader related. I can't find that file anywhere, can you upload that too, or make another build that use newer shader compiler.
