Any way to fix browsers' AVC/h.264 video rendering?

Hello!

The problem is that both firefox and chrome play back videos which are too light and pale. (By the looks of it I'm assuming they play back limited range videos as full range.)
What can I do about it? I was told that they use Media Foundation codecs. Can I replace or configure those? Or any other way to get a proper looking video?
