Simple problem: Aspect ratio wrong

Hi,
I found some similar earlier threads about this problem, but there always seemed to be something else wrong too; in this case the only problem is with the aspect ratio.

The DVD is widescreen, and plays just fine; however, when I rip it and play the VOB (or load it into DVDShrink), it's squished down to 4:3 size. How can this be fixed? Will this fix itself once I burn it onto a new DVD?

I've made many backups, and have never encountered this problem until now (the DVD is the "All the President's Men" DVD, for those who have had similar problems with that film).

Thank you!
Andy

If you have done nothing to the domain stream attributes, it will play OK. What software player are you using? Try to play it in Media Player Classic.

Yeah, now I feel foolish for posting; the moment I burned it back onto a DVD, it played fine. Thank you, though!
