Hi
I have a strange problem. I'm rebuilding the Manchurian Candidate, under Linux. That meens EVOdemux (v.0.262) under wine. And use Mplayer. So fare, there is only DTS(-HD), but no DD+ codec for Linux. VC-1 is fine too. If I play the full movie (all sub-streams), I hear the Commentary track (which should be DD+ acording to XPL). If I remove everything in EVOdemux, except VC-1 and the first english track (DD+). I get the usual sound glitches, when there is no DD+ codec(it tries the incompatible DD codec). If I remove everything but VC-1 and the second english track (DTS-HD). I get this error: Quote:
Has anybody seen this before??? regards qub |

Hi again
I went into WinXP and tried to remove everything, except vc-1 and the first english track. I don't see anything in PowerDVD 6.5 (I guess the parser in PDVD is not good enough), but I hear the Commentary, which should be the fifth track?!?!? I parse the rebuilded .EVO file in EVOdemux, but can't (un)select anything. Everything is grey, with no checkmark. Is this normal? regards qub. |

well.. i think no .dll, that reads eac3-fileand decodes it internally.. if your DShowFilters are installed correctly,.. you can try DirectShowSource() you can test that in graphedit ( ) .. by "Render Media file" option. if the proper chain of filters will connect automatically and you will hear Sound ... so then.. you have installed everything right i think..

VC-1 is working fine. I was talking about the sound. It just depends which sound type I use. Which I think is strange. And what is a DCA frame?? --qub Last edited by qubic; 29th May 2007 at 16:47. |

As for audio, there are no opensource decoders for the codecs commonly in use on HD DVDs and BLU Ray discs (Dolby TruHD, Dolby Digital Plus aka E-AC3, and DTS HD) |

I used tsremux to isolate the dts-hd track (it was around 4GB when done), then tranzcode which recognized the stream and extracted 6 separate wavs all around 1.1GB...The resultant data doesn't seem like it's correct, when I convert these to ac3 (I have several methods, sonic foundry, wav to ac3) all I get are squeeks and static...did I miss a step? TIA! |

You can use BeHappy with aften to easily convert a dts track to ac3. For dts-hd, just get the core dts and then feed it into BeHappy using either directshow via avs script or directly using NicDtsSource.

Does EVODemux support rewriting PMT timestamps when rebuilding the parts of an EVO file like TSRemux? It seems the two EVO files are merged but only half of the movie can be watched because there isn't any continuity between the two files .

I can do two little suggestions for the program:
1) Add a copy (to clipboard) contextual menu on the main window (althougt it already does with CTRL+C) 2) Add an option to add to the filename the number of calculated frames (needed in the script). This is useful because it can happen someone forget to write down the number after closing program. |

I think it would be more useful to have a new option checkbox to log to file and an edit box to enter the log file location and name like the current Output folder. Or, automatically name the log file and use the current Output folder as the log location. Something like that.

Personally i wouldn't need a log, and for me it would be more comfortable to take the number directly from the filename (less files in the dir without the log and no need to open an additional program to read the number from the log), but as an optional addiction to my proposed option, for me it would be fine.

@Pelican9,
I'd like to ask some questions about your EVOdemux (i'm using 0.626). I've a bunch of AOBs (accordingly to EVOdemux it contains a MLP track): Code:
Opening file ATS_01_1.AOB Reading... File size: 1023 Mbytes. It contains 1 audio stream. MLP audio stream 1 found! First PTS = 00000294 (+7ms) Substream id = A1 Standard MLP stream (up to 6 channels) Quantization length = 24 bits Sampling frequency = 96 kHz Channel arrangement = Lf + Rf + Ls + Rs + C + LFE Dynamic range control = -10,6371 dB .. 8,4282 dB Standard MLP stream (up to 6 channels) Quantization length = 24 bits Sampling frequency = 96 kHz Channel arrangement = Lf + Rf + Ls + Rs + C + LFE Dynamic range control = -10,6371 dB .. 8,4282 dB 2) Does LPCM demuxing from AOB files work correctly? 3) Could you make EVOdemux open source? I've been talking with neuron2 lately, and he's willing to add AOB support to DGIndex, but he has no specs, nor any samples. (I've seen some specs, and will send him a few samples once i bought a dvd-writer to burn them) It would be great if you can work together. |
