God, what an incredible review for Vegas

This guy leads off with:

Article Focus:
In the never ending war of which NLE is the best, it appears that Sonic Foundry has quietly set into motion a program that threatens to rock the NLE world and turn it all on its head. Jim Harvey takes a good look at Vegas 4 to see what everyone's been talking about.

That's not really an incredible review. You happen to have stock or something in Vegas? ^.o

Nah, I just like the product a lot. My comment was to the first review which I thought was very strong. I added the second later.
I hope my personal enthusiasm did not offend you

hehe

Na, no offence. I just thought that an "Amazing" review, would be more than a one page overview of what a product can do. That type of review is listed on the back of the box itself. ;p I would need a good 10page in depth review of a product to classify it as such, but to each his own.

I started exploring Vegas today. Does anyone know if there is any documentation for the MainConcept encoder plugin or any guides on the net? I've done a number of searches and can't find anything.

The vegas forum should have some good setting recommendations after much debate: http://www.sonicfoundry.com/forums/S...=161721&Page=1

my updated reply:

Searching means more than just claiming you did it.

The second hit using Google for the three words "MainConcept encoder Vegas" gives a hit of Sonic Foundry's page for the encoder.

That page says:

For detailed information about using the MainConcept MPEG Plug-In for Sonic Foundry Products, download the Sonic Foundry MPEG White Paper. (It's a link to the PDF.)

Vegas' help has a search function. Enter "MainConcept" and it shows three links for instruction on the web.

I know what searching means and I don't see why you feel the need to make such a statement.

There's a fairly in-depth review of Vegas4.0 + DVD Architect in the latest edition of this magazine (and when I say 'in-depth', I am referring to the hardcopy of the magazine, not the abridged excerpt on the URL):

http://www.computervideo.co.uk/june03-1.html

I only mention this magazine so often because it is the only really relevant publication on this topic in the UK.

There's also this one:

http://www.dmnforums.com/cgi-bin/dis...art=1&end=1000

A few months ago almost nothign showed up on the seach engines. Now there's quite a bit. Take a look at my links page and you'll see about 10 tutorials sites. Use my list, it's been verified lately. BillyBob links to stuff that's dead. Douglas Spotted Eagle seems to be making the rounds...
