Split/Join VFR MKV while keeping timecodes

Is there any easy way to do this? I have several VFR mkv files that I want to replace a section of with another VFR mkv file.

Just as you'd usually do. mkvextract/merge will make sure to keep the timecodes correct/intact for the sections you split. If it didn't it wouldn't make sense.

Anyway, that's from my experience.
