No. You should not re-encode anything...
You should: 1. Rename your BarchMux.ini file in BatchMux.old, in order to keep it off line... 2. Take the content of the code section in my previous post, and save it as a new BatchMux.ini file 3. Run title.bat (the one containing just the BatchMux authoring + ISO generation)... I hope it is clear... I edit my previous post, so I hope you can see the code section in it... I've used more segments in the past and had no problems.
After reading a little about Buffer Underflows my suspicion is that you used QuEnc and there was a bitrate spike which made Muxman unhappy. You could run the whole process again using QuEnc and lower the maximum bitrate (there's an option for this in the quenc tab) or run the process again and use HC, which tends to have less spikes.

Well, in principle the authoring should support up to 99 titles, but I carried out complete tests using up to 12 titles...
From your report, it seems that the authoring wrapper (BatchMux.exe) have prepared a correct BatchMux.mxp script, and it seems that MuxMan is actually trying to perform its job... I suspect some singularity is present in the video and or audio assets you are working on (before encoding the video source is 1080P right ?)... In the next hours I will do a simple test in order to use exactely the same BatchMux.in you originally posted, with some different video and audio assets. If this test work it should demonstrate that the problem is related to the assets (video and or audio)... If it fails it will show that the problem is in the authoring stage... Stay tuned... I agree it is quite high, but it should be easily accepted by the muxing engine... @rack04 By the way, what is the bitrate (or the size, in bytes) of your audio assets ? Could you please post a couple of filesizes, let's say of the first two audio files, just to have an idea... |

@rack04
OK. Just completed an experiment, replicating exactely your folder structure, and using the same BatchMux.ini that you have posted... The video assets I have used have an average bitrate higher than 8 Mbps... Everything is OK on this side of the sea... So, it seems to me the problems are not related to the authoring itself (BatchMux or MuxMan) but rely on the video (and audio ?) assets, as it is suggesting Mr_Odwin... However, I am still curious about what makes someones of your assets so critical. Are you available/intrested in performing a little further test ? I am quite convinced that if you try to use the following BatchMux.ini file: Code:
-d "C:\Program Files\FAVC\Output\dvd 0\VIDEO_TS" -mxp "C:\Program Files\FAVC\Working\Working Folder 0\MuxScript.mxp" -l "C:\Program Files\FAVC\Working\Working Folder 0\MuxScript.log" -muxman "C:\Program Files\FAVC\MuxMan" -v "C:\Program Files\FAVC\Working\Working Folder 0\Title17.m2v" -a1 "C:\Program Files\FAVC\Working\Working Folder 0\Title17.ac3" -cellfr "C:\Program Files\FAVC\Working\Working Folder 0\TitleChap17.txt" If this happen, I would like to get a look at the original assets of your m2v and ac3 title17 files... - under the condition that these trailers have no copyright issues, of course... In this case, please get in touch with me via PM... Cheers, SD Last edited by Sir Didymus; 16th May 2007 at 12:10. |

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...tshowcase.aspx There are 25 of them, in various flavours (720p,1080p). If these are the ones you were working with I can download and try to replicate your problem.

I was browsing the same site just at the same time of your post... By the way, I see all of these clips are encoded at 24fps. What is the conversion procedure adopted within FAVC to perform the framerate conversions (24 --> 29,97 or 24 -->25) ? Is DgPulldown by Neuron2 used someway ? And this batchmux.ini?
Code:

Ok the problem is definatly in Title16. I ran the following BatchMux.ini and everything worked fine. I still don't know what the problem is with Title16 but at least we've narrowed down the problem.
Code:

With the file I can replicate the problem. It seems that HC really struggles with it! I used FAVC to create a single title DVD and I lowered the maximum bitrate from 9400 (failed)->8000 (failed)->7000 (Success!).
My suggestion would be to either run the entire project again with a lower maximum bitrate, or to re-encode just this particular file (try FAVC with a lower maximum bitrate and set the Disc Capacity as required) and then 'slot' it into the original working folder with the correct file name (Title16.m2v), and finally run the modified title.bat to author.

Serenity... Nice clip...
Your findings are very interesting, and not just because you confirmed the problems are independent from the authoring stage... I just searched (again... sigh...) in the forum the recommendations from Hank315 - HC21 and Neuron2 - DgPulldown on the proper encoding settings to apply for MPEG2 material (GOP size, bitrate...) in order to be DVD compliant after the usage of DgPulldown. It seems the procedure performed by FAVC have no issues, and the max GOP size values (of 30 fields, as in the log posted by rack04) are also OK. So, no idea why the encoded clip of the Serenity trailer is so troublesome... Cheers, SD Last edited by Sir Didymus; 17th May 2007 at 08:25. |

Agreed!

Currently there isn't one. I may incorporate it, but for now your only option is to stop the title.bat file when it starts, kill any encoding that's going on, and then manually edit the title.bat file to reflect the changes you want.
