Thanks for confirming the "retaining chapters from Sources" does not work for all sources! Apparently not many folks [tried to] use this feature or I'd have found more postings about it.

Dunno if you want to add "chapters from BD" to your list of enhancements but AFAIK that will require eac3to and ChapterGen as MediaInfo doesn't seem to do it.

Anyway now I know to separately use "Import Chapters" for each title.

What happen if you try to remux the m2ts with tsRemux, leaving only the audio/subs tracks you need?

I've received another warning about division by zero, but the cause was a framerate detected as "0" by MediaInfo. That's should not be the same issue as yours.

Hi Mrc,

That movie was encoded with Ripbot264 1.16.4 and re-expoted in AVCHD format with TsMuxerGUI. It not gonna change if i set to m2ts; AVCHD is the same format has the m2ts file?

I'Ve try another movie, samething. Version 2.3.4 is ok! Everything pass.

Let me know if i can help more than this.

**EDIT**

Tested re-muxed in m2ts with txmuser without subtitles; samething.
Also updated ffdshow clsidd rev3871 to 3881; samething.

The issue has neen resolved but i found that the image quality is not has the preview stable version 2.3.4!

The fast mouvement is a little bit saccaged sometimes. I seen some desinterlaced lines on caracters mouvements; saccaged a little bit in some action scene.

I use same settings then before. DirecShow; 2-pass; Sline36Resize; etc.

Fine with the issue.

About the output quality: could you please send me the log files from 2.3.4 and 2.4.1 Alpha projects that show different quality?

Sorry if this has been asked before... The couple times I've used this software it has worked brilliantly, though I was surprised that it defaults to 1-pass and still manages to hit the bitrate target effectively (necessary as my BD-to-DVD conversions were for discs with 6 TV episodes thereon). Can I assume 2-pass will be even better re-encoding to MPEG2, and more accurate still with fitting-episodes-to-DVD, and at what speed penalty? Twice as slow? Ten times?

5.1 DTS to 5.1 AC3 encoding problem

It seems that encoding 5.1 DTS to 5.1 AC3 using wavi+aften will give 2.0 AC3 audio. Is this not possible or am I making mistake in preference? I have choose AC3 with 448 kbps bit rate. I assume with 448 kbps you will get 5.1 AC3 if the input is 6 channels.

@laserfan

yes, theoretically 2-pass VBR encoding will give you a better result than 1-pass VBR, mainly using low bitrates (i.e. <3000 kbps). Encoding time should increase about 70-80% than 1-pass VBR.

@8ternity

if you have some frames screenshots that show quality difference, that would be great. Otherwise, log files are enough

@ynamojn

take a look at Help/FAQ/Audio/Q4.1

Many thanks for your careful reply, and thanks again for this excellent software, which somehow has flown under my radar for a long time now.

Next time I need to use it I am gonna send you a contribution. I promise.

Windows 7 64bit.
XviD1.2.1 or 1.32.

Selecting QuEnc (no problem with HcEnc) the conversion freezes as soon as the QuEnc window pops up (Not Responding in Task Manager).
Single or multi-thread.
If I choose multithread I get four instances of QuEnc not responding.
I found that if I changed the fourCC code of the AVI to DX50 there is no problem.
If I was to simply run QuEnc from the subfolder it creates the mpeg file OK.

( I found that FAVC displays the same behaviour, but put it down to being older and not supported recently).

thank you very much in advance

@broxburn

have you installed Windows 7 Preferred Filter Tweaker and selected XviD as default decoder?

Bye
Thanks. I got it now. Another question, this is just confirmation. Suppose the source is 24 bit DTS, then it will not be retained?

@8ternity

see source title info readings:

AVStoDVD 2.3.4 (MediaInfo 0.7.41)
Code:
Video: E:\BLURAY\The Rebound FRENCH AC3 720P AFF DVD5.AVCHD\BDMV\STREAM\00000.m2ts
Info: AVC - 5765 kbps - 1280x720 - DAR 1,778 - 23,976 fps (CFR) - Progressive - 1:34:38 hours - 136150 frames
AVStoDVD 2.4.1 Alpha (MediaInfo 0.7.44)
Code:
Video: E:\BLURAY\The Rebound FRENCH AC3 720P AFF DVD5.AVCHD\BDMV\STREAM\00000.m2ts
Info: AVC - 5765 kbps - 1280x720 - DAR 1,778 - 0 fps (CFR) - Progressive - 1:34:38 hours - 136150 frames
Thus AVStoDVD 2.4.1 Alpha does not apply 2:3 pulldown command when encoding with HCenc.

Do you have the possibility to copy&paste here the full MediaInfo 0.7.44 (advanced mode) report?

@ynamojn
