Windows 10 HDR conundrum
Hey all,
My goal was to play HDR clips on my Windows machine that's connected to my DELL HDR screen. I've read around, installed MPC-BE, madVR and managed to play some HDR content but the Windows Settings HDR toggle still needs to be activated before manually. Read a bit more and learned that in order for this to work I have to use NVIDIA driver 385.69 or earlier. So I downgraded my driver and this in did works BUT on my triple monitor setup, closing MPC-BE and returning to SDR mode screws the screens arrangement. Also, I've noticed that my blacks are off. Checking the NVIDIA control panel my "Output dynamic range" was on Limited. Forcing it to "Full" fixed the issue but now, HDR switch can't be turned on. Is this suppose to be so complected or am I missing something? Are there any plans from Microsoft \ NVIDIA side to make the viewing HDR movies on windows a bit easier? Hardware: GTX 970, i7-4770, DELL U2718Q |
