I am using Win7 and not using switcher etc.
I dont think the black screen issue has any relation with amd driver. It happen with my ATI HD4850 and Mobility Radeon HD 4200(legacy 13.9 driver) in addition to ATI HD 5450 and 8670M (14.4, 14.7RC). I think the problem happen after I update the madvr to current v0.87.10. Too bad I can't remember which is the last version that works. EDIT: it only happen sometime, end task using windows task manager and everything back to normal. |

Sounds like you have the exact problem I had before, only mine has gotten worse and never works anymore. Black screen every time now. At least before it worked most of the time. Not sure what has changed, there was a time on Win7 and older MadVR when it always worked for me. Maybe Win8 exaggerates the problem? Good to hear others are having this problem too, thought I was alone...

"present several frames in advance" is supposed to be more glitch-free (no dropped frames, no tearing) and some features need it. The only reason there's an option to turn it off is that it did or does work worse for a few people. If you don't have any problems leave it turned on.

without this you can get dropped frames when your pc is doing something that stops madVR from presenting frames for a very short time. this simply makes playback more save. |

Seems like either MPC-HC or MadVR doesn't play well with INF-modded Nvidia Quadro drivers (they usually release before GeForce with sometimes better performance). Performance is worse alltogether and there's nothing I can do to make it better except install normal GeForce drivers.

"present several frames in advance" is also needed for reporting "presentation glitches" but you don't need it for error diffusion dithering. |
