i did many backups (with pal dvds) and had no bugs , so if you find any bugs or mistakes with calculations ,give some feedback ,please . see you...

Another thing I’ll probably never understand is, - _very_ probably because I am no coder - , why people prefer to work independently instead of throwing their coding force together? No offense meant, of course.
I would really like to learn some coding but consider my logic skills too inferior and myself as too old anyway.

To use divx or xvid, you need to go through vdub first. Writing a GUI to control a GUI is much more difficult, not to mention, rediculus in the first place, unless you are controlling multiple GUIs at once; And that is even more difficult to program. As for why all the programers are french? You got me. Last edited by 31 Flavas; 19th May 2003 at 11:43. |

I have the possible answer to why all Rv9 encoder are all done by french people.
If you recall... the first Rv9 codec pack was done by french people as well. And if you do a bit of research, a lot of french people here do anime encoding as well. so you can conclude why.... |

i thought that the amount of program came from the easily way to control realproducer (btw piloting vdub with vcf script file, isn't very complicated...) but why only french? Yes,(japanese)animes are very popular ( i only show and encode japanese anime, about 300go on my harddrives and only xvid or sbc ^^) is it a reason ? i don't know, but i have to say that Rv9 is popular too...
btw, i really don't like rv9, but it could be a good idea for rv9 programmer to work together (i heard something about that with darkangel(autorv9) and x2real(akabob) on french board) |

@sigmatador : what is so funny ? author's location doesn't realy matter here ...
@31flavas : you are right , this is simple to program for. But simple doesn't mean simplistic and that's good for me because i'm still_bad_but_learning C (i do maple scripts for computer algebra as a job and i knew quite nothing in C 6months ago). rv9 video and rmfactory feets all my needs and whishes for 1 cd dvd backups and that's what i wanted i did my own programming cause i just always say 'how to do this and that ?' and really love to find a good solution...also remember we french are the people who work the less (35h/week) .

Although i am not french most of my encoding now ( it used to be all of my encoding..... but now i encode some TV series as well ) are anime. And Rv9 prove to be THE BEST at low bitrate. enough said. It is sad that the fact all rv9 are not as complete as they could be. Each provide the advantages which others don't have. However, it is nice to see that programmers are getting into Helix. P.S Any programmer getting so in it that they could make a DDshow player filter for Rv9 and or put them in mka?? |

i know that the location doesn't matter, but i was just curious about this particularity.
"35h/week" --> That's the reason btw, using the free time to help the video community isn't a bad thing (even if i would prefer helping de open source community ) |
