Tried that with the 0.63 versions. I get the same Inspect output. If LAV is installed correctly, what should the Inspect output be?

What are you using to install them? They aren't showing as installed in the system registry. Use the link on the first page of this thread for installation.

If it is installed correctly you will see "- LAVFILTERS: Ok" in INSPECT, and none of the FFDSHOW settings will be checked.

Hi jdobbs,
I'm using the install link supplied on this forum link, v0.63. What's really bizzare is I have run successful backups on another PC with the exact same source, exact same setup (LAV only) and exact same output settings and the mkv output file plays perfectly on any machine on my LAN. AND the INSPECT output does NOT show any reading on LAV filters as you state above. Here is the INSPECT output on the PC producing a correctly playing output -

- Windows Version: 6.1 [7601]
- AVISYNTH Version: [2.5.8.0], Ok
- HAALI Splitter: Not installed
- FFDSHOW doesn't appear to be installed
- FFDSHOW Audio doesn't appear to be installed
- WIN7 preferred AVC CODEC: Not Set correctly
- WIN7 preferred VC-1 CODEC: Not Set correctly
- WIN7 preferred MPEG2 CODEC: Not Set correctly
- FFDSHOW VC-1 set incorrectly: [0]
- FFDSHOW MPEG2 set incorrectly: [0]
- FFDSHOW AVC set incorrectly: [0]
- AnyDVD settings check: Ok.
- BD-RB v0.50.0.2, not current

and yet HKEY_CURRENT_USER in the registry clearly shows a LAV entry. What the hell????

Any codec packs installed? Is it possible your A/V is interfering with BD_RBs attempts at setting LAVFILTERS as preferred.

Nope.Just LAV. And I use WIN7DSFilter Tweaker to se LAV as default for all file types. What's so annoying is I sorted this issue before by removing all unecessary codecs and sticking with LAV only. Suddenly the problem has come back and i'm out of ideas troubleshooting the issue. Short of an OS reinstall I don't see what I can try next?

@DVD Maniac

You have to use the INSPECT under the Help menu and NOT the stand alone INSPECT program.

Hello,

since version 0.50.0.2 alternate output doesn't work for me. I tried to encode mp4-1280*720-acc by setting 2 pass encoding with a fixed size (third option). When I start encoding a pop up appears telling me that the audio is too big to fit into the fixed size and suggests crf. The same happens if i choose the 2 pass encoding with fixed bitrate (second option).

In the moment I use version 0.50.01 for alternate encoding.

additionally if i tried to upscale an imported dvd and encode it to mp4-1280*720-acc a pop up appears telling me about an h.264 error. Is it possible that's because the imported format is interlaced?

Well latest test with the "working PC" has produced a dodgy output. Cannot skip forwards / backwards or chapter surf without any player crashing...

Having an issue with BD Rebuilder v0.50.02 it think?
I rip my own disc of The Equalizer using DVDFab 9.1.7.1
I will start by saying when I installed BD v0.50.02 id said my set up was not correct and it could correct it. So I let it?
Now running Inspect shows this:

- Windows Version: 6.1 [7601]
- AVISYNTH Version: 2.5.8.0, not recommended version
- HAALI Splitter: Ok
- FFDSHOW: 4504, not recommended version
- WIN7 preferred AVC CODEC: Ok
- WIN7 preferred VC-1 CODEC: Ok
- WIN7 preferred MPEG2 CODEC: Ok
- FFDSHOW VC-1 set to "wmv9", Ok
- FFDSHOW MPEG2 set to "libavcodec": Ok
- FFDSHOW AVC set to "libavcodec": Ok
- BD-RB vUNKNOWN, not current

I haven't even gone into my issue yet

Just trying to get my set up correct ?
What AVISYNTH version is recommended?
And what about FFDshow ?
And I don't remember BD version ever showing as unknown and not current?

All my issue just might be do to the above setup?
I am experiencing video freezing and video was not touched? Movie only mode converting DTS MA to AC3

The weird part burned Movie to a dual Layer BD 50GB and no freezing. Burned BD single layer after just converting Audio and have the freezing. That why think it a BDRD issue.

I think what Ch3vr0n means is that if you look carefully on the first post, you not only download BDRB there, but there are also links for Avisynth and the other things you need. You probably just missed them...

Are you sure you're executing the EXE you think you are? It's pretty hard for BD-RB to find the wrong version of itself. You'll need to uninstall AVISYNTH and FFDSHOW first, then then install the versions linked in the first post. Somehow the system isn't seeing the new install.

After I remove the Avisynth 2.6.0.5 and then went back to Avisynth 2.5.8.0 everything straightened out. My original Avisynth 2.5.8.0,must have been corrupted.

We'll there's likely your problem, 2.6.0.5 is not the official recommended version. As such bug reports with unsupported versions are not accepted, to the disc again with the supported versions. If you will have the same problem, then come back.
