MenuShrink 2.2 is here!

MenuShrink Version 2.0 is here!
EDIT MenuShrink Version 2.2 is also here! See below!

MenuShrink is a small application that turns large motion menus into tiny still
menus with or without audio. Menus can usually be shrunk down to 5% to 10% of
their original size, while keeping full functionality.

Version 2.0 has the following main new features:
  • New Preview mode allows you to visually select which image to use in each menu.
  • The output DVD are more compliant than before. The remaining problems with highlights not showing on some DVD players have been fixed.
  • Cells with "non-functional" buttons are now skipped.
  • There's an new panel to set the path to your favorite apps.
along with many improvements and bug fixes.
Get the new version at the usual place:
http://www.videohelp.com/~menushrink/

Here's the change log.

UI:
  • Added selection with video preview for the still frame.
  • MenuShrink remembers which frames were manually selected for the last processed DVD.
  • MenuShrink can reload the last opened DVD.
  • Added tool buttons and a path panel to set them up.
  • Added support for messages in french.
  • Added better command-line support. Pass video_ts.ifo and you open the full DVD. Pass vts_01_0.vob and only that VTS is marked for processing.
  • If the VTSM_C_ADT table isn't correct to begin with, MenuShrink no longer crash.
  • The VTS selection panel has been improved.
Engine:
  • MenuShrink now produces more compliant single-VOBU cells in no-audio mode.
  • In audio mode, the audio is no longer clipped when the buttons appear late in the menu.
  • MenuShrink now picks the smallest frame for transition clips (menu intros/outros).
  • MenuShrink now squashes and attempts to skip cells that have non-functional buttons (either tiny buttons, or buttons that all have NOP commands).
Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed a bug in the pack identification routine that caused an audio pack to be mistaken for a navpack in Godzilla!!!
  • Fixed a problems with tools when the path to the DVD folder had spaces in it.
  • Occasional highlight delay has been fixed.
  • The few remaining problems with highlights not showing on some DVD and some players have been ironed out.

Here's the thread for
version 1.0.

Enjoy!

Thanks jsoto! I haven't included your color-enabled log yet (I ran into problems, didn't find the time to solve them) but I really want to. That makes the log sooo much more readable. I'll keep you posted...

This happens sometimes if you don't refresh... When you get to the download page (not the main page), hit F5 (or refresh your browser). Then you'll get version 2.0

It's a bit scary though... I wonder if a lot of people will get version 1.0 instead of 2.0 and wonder what the heck is wrong!
Anybody knows how to avoid the problem on my side (can I do something on the web page to make sure this does not happen?).

Put the version number in the file name...?

And delete http://jean.laroche.free.fr/MenuShri...ies/index.html and stick to direct links to the files.

yes yes yes... I put the version number in the files, and deleted the old one (so people might get an error, but won't get the old version).
The intermediate page allows me to see the number of downloads. I don't know how to do that otherwise (I don't like such intermediate pages myself!).

Bug in Log??

Any one else get this?

I press save and I got a run time error so I re-processed. Save again, and nothing in log. Had to copy and paste manually.

Thanks blutach

I think: <meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache"> does just that (add it in your header).

Hope this helps

Translation: "dude it would be cool if we could edit menus. That's the only thing missing"

Answer: Mec, it would be cool if you wrote in english for the rest of us on this forum .

To edit menus, you have PgcEdit's menu editor, which is absolutely fabulous! You can change almost EVERY aspect of your menus. There's really not much to add to that.
But what did you have in mind anyway???

My guess: a simpler PgcEdit menu editor, a freeware MenuEdit, with fries... and mayonnaise.
Superb app btw, just shrunk 8½ criterion ed. menu from 280MB to 7 MB, I love it.

You have me rolling on the floor here! . Don't want to go into politics here, but I live in the states and believe me, I'm far from assimilated (like many US citizens I know!!!).
Anyway, thanks for the good words! A plus!
