NuMenu4u 2.0.2

07/02/05

Bug fixes / Changes:

• When setting Encoder Path, this encoder is now set automatically to default
• Change to string setting to stop mismatch error in CreateECL
• Correction for test for revpulldown.exe
• Alteration to how Vobtest is handled if it fails – fixes SlipGun problem
• Slight alteration to prevent error reported by wfn1
• During previous build I accidentally broke how audio was handled – DarkListeners error
• Internal alteration which was causing incorrect track duration for NTSC if duration was 00:00:59:29 – should fix eriksen67 error
• Fix to logfile – was always written regardless of settings
• Change to how NTSC stills are handled – they were always reported as Hybrid instead of interlaced – may fix the strange still results some have experienced
• Correction to when CCE 2.7+ is being used which was causing EclCCE to run causing an error
• If no re-encode is set and no encoders are specified a fix to stop asking for an encoder path – dvd@best problem
• Check for DVDDecrypter is now run to ensure compatability

Enhancements:

• Now have the option to process Hybrid and Telecine sources with IVTC under the Avisynth tab – The encode will be at 23.976fps and pulldown applied (for NTSC)
• The header of each mpv is now scanned after encode to determine frame rate and whether pulldown is required. This is useful for when an AVS script is altered during the ‘Pause’ stage

Thank You Zeul!
Ok, I tested your new version.
Now, it handles no-audio menu, but I found a problem with CCE.
The message error is "CCE failed"
And after, NuMenu4U reported the following error:

Procedure Name: PatchHeader
Module Name: AssetProcess

Error Number: 9
Error Description: Subscript out of range
Error Source: Project1
Error Line: 0
Call Stack:
PatchHeader --> AssetProcess
MoveVideo --> ReplacementFile
GetEncodedVideo --> ReplacementFile
StartNuMenu4u --> ExecuteProgram
go_Click --> MainForm
Form_Activate --> MainForm

I supposed the encoder was expecting a menu file with both video/audio streams.
So I deleted the line "AddAudio()" in the AVS Script...
CCE starts working again
But I can't change the AVS script in order to delete the AddAudio() command each time NuMenu4u process a no-audio VobId... (if I can, sorry, I don't know to do that...)
Is there a way that NuMenu analize the VobId (or Vob menu file), so it can change automatically the AVS script?
In this way CCE will not hang when encode a video file and doesn't find the expected audio stream commanded by AVS

Hope you understood whole thing...
(I know, I know, My English is not my best...)

Update:
At this moment, my PC is still working...
I deleted the line command "AddAudio()" in AVS script for whole project in NuMenu4u.
The DVD has 17 Vob file menus, and only VTS_16_0.VOB file has audio streams...
And when NuMenu4u began to process this file, it decoded and transcode from 25 fps to 29.97 fps all audio files...
At this moment, it seems that this AVS command is not needed... (Can't assure that)

Just a heads up to users. I encountered a problem with ProCoder outputting the wrong field order. robot1 is looking into it now in his EclPro thread. This only effects interlaced content.

i presume you are running cce 2.5. what avisynth version are you using? This is a format conversion - correct?
The addaudio() is there to prevent cce crashing on athlon systems. It can be removed in the avisynth script editor. just delete it and press 'save script'. thants it.
I will run some more tests myself with cce 2.5
NB NO audio is processed via cce.

Yes, I'm using CCE 2.50 and AVS (2.5.5.0)
Scenarist version 3.01
Format conversion PAL-->NTSC
But now, I found that Scenarist Automation LOG gives me an "Scenarist found an exception error" I clicked "OK" button and now its hanged at "Searching for Scenarist Window"
and Scenarist doesn't appear in my Task Manager...
I'm trying to figure out what is hapening...

these apps have not been tested fully with 3.01, there are many issues with this scenarist version. I recommend staying with 2.7 or 3.0
Can you post up one of the avs conversion scripts that is causing cce 2.5 to fail. so i can replicate exactly

Sorry for my late reply...
I'm not having problems with CCE right now, if I deleted the "AddAudio" command, it works.
I can see the new m2v files in the NEW_M2V folder as NTSC when original menu was PAL... So CCE is doing well its job.
The problem is with Scenarist and the Automate window... As you can see in my previous post. It hangs all past night and did anything in authoring/remuxing job...

A dumb question:

I'm trying to convert a PAL menu with a NTSC one... Ok, when NuMenu finalize its work, then DIF4U will do the rest...
But how?
I suppose that I have to do with DIF4U is to do the same than NuMenu4u settings for conversion format in rest of VTS files? (Main movie and extras)
I suppose I'll do this changing the AVS script in DIF4U AVS script settings...

Someone can explain how to put that script in the right way in DIF4U window?

Sorry If this was answered before...

Attached is an update to revpulldown.exe. this is version 099g It corrects a (big) issue that would cause it to fail on large files when -ps_add was used. fixed. this file includes the .exe and the source. also adds -addfield which puts a rff flag on the first temporal frame (this can be used during 2:3 pulldown to correct a .5 field amount situation)

Thanks Trahald, I will test it

I simply copied the AVS script made by Zeul from NuMenu4u in DIF4U AVS script. It worked fine, the mpv file made by CCE file playing itself with Power DVD works perfect, no artifacts and PowerDVD recognized it as 29.97 NTSC interlaced

Only I must know what kind of video has the main VTS to copy the AVS script in DIF4U (25 fps interlaced or progressive, 23.976 interlaced or 29.97 interlaced to choose what conversion scripts in Numenu applies for DIF4U)

I did this with an easy DVD project like U2-Rattle and Hum from 25 fps PAL Interlaced to 29.97 fps NTSC. To make it easier and faster I just did 1 pass with CCE...

But Scenarist found an error in the remuxing thing and couldn't finish it (buffer underflow)

This error was in main VTS, but menus made by NuMenu worked perfect

I'm having problems with DIF4U and Scenarist... Maybe tune up problems...

Just another question.

I see that NuMenu in its process uses Besweet or Soft Encode to convert the audio frames from 25 fps to 29.97...

Is there a way to handle audio with BeSweet and DIF4U for audio fps conversion? Or it is no needed?

Big Thanks to Zeul and all developers of BIG 3 tools

Dif4u can't convert the audio, you must do this manually. Feed th ac3 stream into besweet and use one of the default profiles to alter the audio length, and output dolby digital wave 6ch. Feed this into scenarist and will automatically ask you if you want to convert to ac3. answer yes. alternatively feed the wav into softencode.

The above is only applicable if you have in avs script assumefps(..) if you are using convertfps / changefps then the length is unchanged. Assumefps is better though as it keeps all the frames, but requires lots of manual intervention.

Here is another update to pulldown. it seems the original pulldown code does not like when there is not a sequence_end_code at the end of a video file (likely to happen from vobid demux from dvddec also possible with pgc demux in some cases, also quenc does not apply sequence end code) cce does add sequence end code so usually fine there. pulldown would fail near the end but not give a real indication but more importantly not write the last bit of data in the buffer. this would generally result in frames/gops lost. of course revpulldown inherited this issue. so its been fixed in 099h attached. basically when the situation occurs i give a warning message, but in addition i write the remainder of the buffer to your new file so all frames are delivered.

I just found out a way to my request.
i was looking if u can include a option to restirct the scenarist script to only import assets ,create buttons , but shud not touch scenario editor and leave the rest for user.

I might sound stupid to you , but why i am asking this because i do change the structre of dvd and buttons commands according to my needs.

But i just found a way todat that after importing the script i just deleted everything frm scenario editor and then drop them as i need.

Thanks anyway

Regards
