12-14-04 on2compI gui update....see post.
Hello all,
we are nearing completion of a possible software release of our gui On2CompI. However, as there are only a limited number of testers in the offices here we are looking for those who would like to beta test the gui themselves. Please if you would send me a private message with your email addresses that you wish to receive correspondance on this subject. I am anticipating to have the beta out for you guys within the next two weeks...and will update this thread and/or your private messages letting you know it is ready for the get go. Thanks guys, c0mp *** Just posted the newest version on the site for you guys that are testing. Took some things into heart and put them into use. Still many things to go (fixes, suggestions, etc) I will also email all of you to let you know about the new version.

As of right now the output format can be either .avi or .vp6 (meaning it is using the vp62 codec). We are still not done readying it up for you guys to mess with. Like I said within a week or so...so since my last post hopefully this week before thanksgiving vacation.
Once it is ready I will send you all private messages notifying where you can obtain your copy etc. I will also attempt to elaborate to you all on the settings, acceptable formats, etc. keep your eyes peeled on your inbox. c0mp

Realesed for Testing TODAY! I will be sending you all private messages today on how to obtain your copy of it to test out.
As always I will ask you all to keep this as professional as possible with regards to comments/criticisms. Included within the directory for you all is the on2compI beta exe and the truecast server admin exe. I have included the truecast server (which can be obtained from our site as well) for you all to test the realtime capture/compressability within on2compI specifically with different types of capture cards. As of note It is very difficult being such a small company to test every brand of capture card out there for realtime tests....so please if you have any experience with this send me information to the correct places. As far as accepted input sources from capture card On2CompI can use either the DV interface or the Video For Windows (VFW). The card must support uncompressed video in either YV12 or I420 format. For file based sources the above formats apply as well as RGB (which at this time is less stable than YV12 or I420). ******On2CompI cannot output WMV, Divx, etc etc. It is only able to output on2 vp6 proprietary format so keep that in mind. The input sources also cannot be a recompress from wmv, divx, etc. etc. unless of course you convert the file to a raw avi and then run it through on2compi...but by that time what would be the point. I will attempt to address as many problems and/or log as many errors etc as I can via either email or in this thread. Good luck all and thank you very much for this help =) c0mp

here my first thoughts:
- autorefresh of the Input/Output views after one resizes the window would be better - the input and output window should always be resized so that one sees the whole 'picture' and not just a fraction of it, if the window isn't big enough - if one changes something in the Frame PreProcessing Options and Preview is enabled, it should automaticly refresh (it's a pain to allways press the 'Refresh'-button) - it should be easier to access the Frame Preprocessing option, instead of the one Session button it might be better to add a button for the Source, Stream PreProcessing, Frame Preprocessing etc. - would be cool if a 'marked' section would somhow be highlightened and if one could cut out a section (e.g. to remove commercials) - for two pass encoding would be nice if one could select a target size instead of a target bitrate Cu Selur |

guys I am going to post a new version of the on2compI on the server again. This one should address many of the issues that you had with it recently. We are still looking into other bugs and as things get better will release newer versions for you guys to test.
