Rear surround reverb suggestions???

Has anyone found a good reverb setting for the rear surround channels for a 5.1 setup (DD or DTS?) I usually like a mild, hall reverb effect on the rear channels.

I am using Freeverb (in a bidule) and it is looking for things like: Room Size, Dampness, Wet/Dry settings.

Any suggestions?

Mike, all you can do is play with it til you get what you like. Personally, I like the original impulse files from EoH's original method, and they are available on his server. Andreas has the link in the Bidule thread, towards the end. Somewhere on Angelo Farina's site I saw measurements he used for these impulses, but I don't have a clue where.

Thanks. I actually found a really good mix last night and plan to test it out tonight.

I will post my reverb values in case someone would like to check it out. I am using EoH's new Ambisonic method with a few 'tweaks.'

Of course, I am happy to post the bidule as well.

I've been playing around with the various stereo-to-5.1 methods presented in the forum here. One of the best results I've had so far is using impulses from a Lexicon 960 that I found at www.noisevault.com. Try the room impulses, especially "big wooden room." With the right levels, it works really well.

As for ambisonics, maybe I'm doing something wrong, but so far, all it has seem to do for me is narrow the stereo image to the point where I seem to get mono from the front and the same in the back.

Ah well...

Try the Lexicon impulses, they're free and they work well.

Sounds like you may not have something connected to the right place. Post in the ambisonics thread and maybe someone can suggest something.
