I like the new status look. Thanks for keeping XVID alive!

One quick question: What kind of frame is S? (amongst the 'internals' in the status-window)

Oh, one thing. Can you tell us what each color is on the status window.

And for Xvid 1.0 it would be nice if we could save the status window information into a text file.

-Thanks
Jason

I think that

red = i-frame
blue = p-frame
green = b-frame

Nice work on the status. It still lacks the curve-graphic (ala nandub) that me and suxen discussed, but it's certainly improving .

Profile "AS@L5" is used by default. Does it mean that Rate Control's working correctly ?
(I know that it's written that "XviD RC will not respect these value" ).

Hi,

@Koepi & other devs: thanks a lot for your great work!

but again: please, make the fast first pass only be active, when the 'discard first pass' option is selected. i had already 2 times forgotten to deactivate the quant 2 zone in the second pass.
i use the first pass result to check the avisynth filter settings and for a size estimation.

i have a beta3 first pass ready (20h processing time, no weight zones). can i keep the stat file for RC1 ?

greetings, Heini011.

Heini:

yupp, you could use that statsfile. Just remember to setup everything like it was again, now after installing my build XviD sets everything to the defaults

With the new Xvid I'm having problems keeping the size down. Even at 2000kbps it's make a 40 minute video about 500-650 MBs. It's still encoding but I'm at 135MBs at 13600 frams of 65504. Maybe it's because the Weight system is fixed. Would 1000kbps look dvd like and remain small in the new RC? Each new xvid is so great but different.

Minimal Frame Quantization Default is 1

Hey. I installed the the new build and the first thing that i spot is that the Min I P and B Frame Quantizer defaults are 1 instead of 2.

It was known that quant 1 has some problems, like they are not working well(?), or even if they are working they dont have any effect on quality they just increase size. I would like to know if this is fixed or improved by now or is there any change there at all ? Is there a point in using minimal quant 1, ll that result in higher quality or anything ?

Thank for your answers.
