Jonah: A Veggie Tales Movie (R1) Widescreen or Fullscreen

Jonah: A Veggie Tales Movie [Region 1] Widescreen or Fullscreen Cheat Sheet
Courtesy of 2CL

The strange about doing this DVD is that when I played the ripped files on my computer, before or after any edits, the menu buttons flickered a lot. But viewing it in PowerDVD, it played fine. It also played flawlessly in my standalone with no button flickering.

Tool I used
IFOedit 0.95
DVD Decrypter in File Mode and selecting certain files

Title Information
Title 1: VTS_01 contains your fullscreen movie
Title 2: VTS_02 contains your widescreen movie
__________________________________________________________
1. Create a folder named “Jonah” and a subfolder named “Files”.
__________________________________________________________
2. Rip the following files for your desired aspect ratio to your “Jonah”folder.
  • WIDESCREEN: Rip all files except VTS_01_1.VOB to VTS_01_4.VOB
FULLSCREEN: Rip all files except VTS_02_1.VOB to VTS_02_4.VOB
__________________________________________________________
3. Open VIDEO_TS.IFO with IFOedit and press “Get VTS Sectors” buttons to load other IFOs.
__________________________________________________________
4. Region Free every IFO and save commands if region code commands were detected.
__________________________________________________________
5. Backup all IFOs to “Files” subfolder. It’s a good practice to backup your original files prior to editing. In case you mess up, you can always copy over your these files over your badly edited one and then press your “Get VTS Sectors” button to refresh data in IFOedit.
__________________________________________________________
6. Bypass FBI and Interpol Warnings

Go to VTS_03_0.IFO / VTS_PGCITI / VTS_PGC_1 / PGC Command Table. Edit the “Number of Pre Commands” value as value plus “Number of Post Commands” value. Edit as follows by double left clicking on value and enter sum value.

  • PGC Command Table:

OLD > Number of Pre Commands.....1
OLD > Number of Post Commands....1

NEW > Number of Pre Commands.....2
By doing this, all your Post Commands will shift up become Pre Commands and your PGC Video (Trailers) will not play. Your Main Menu will now display upon DVD insert.

If you want to know more about this technique, check this GUIDE

7. Save VTS_03_0.IFO
__________________________________________________________
8. Select your aspect ratio preference.
  • WIDESCREEN: Proceed to next step.
    FULLSCREEN: Go to step 13.

WIDESCREEN

9. In this step, we will set the default movie to widescreen. By default, your DVD will play your fullscreen (4:3) version so all we need to do is just make sure that if you selected fullscreen in your viewing options menu, it will play widescreen instead.

In VTS_01_0.IFO / VTSM_PGCI_UT / PGC-Menu_40 / PGC Command Table, edit your first Pre Command as follows. To edit, right click and select “Edit Command” and select “(LinkPGCN) Link PGC”. Set PGC Nr. to 41.

  • OLD > 1.Pre Command ...(JumpVTS_TT) Jump to Title: 1...[30 03 00 00 00 01 00 00]
    NEW > 1.Pre Command....(LinkPGCN) Link PGC 41..........[20 04 00 00 00 00 00 29]
__________________________________________________________
10. Save VTS_01_0.IFO
__________________________________________________________
11. Get VTS Sectors
__________________________________________________________
12. Press DVDPlay button to preview and test. Test also in PowerDVD or WinDVD if you got it.
__________________________________________________________
That’s for widescreen. Burn what works for you.

FULLSCREEN

13. By default, your DVD will play your fullscreen (4:3) version so all we need to do is just make sure that if you selected widescreen in your viewing options menu, it will play fullscreen instead.

  • OLD > 1.Pre Command...(JumpSS VMGM) Jump to VMG PGC: 6...[30 06 00 06 00 c0 00 00]
    NEW > 1.Pre Command ..(LinkPGCN) Link PGC 40.............[20 04 00 00 00 00 00 28]
__________________________________________________________
14. Save VTS_01_0.IFO
__________________________________________________________
15. Get VTS Sectors
__________________________________________________________
16. Press DVDPlay button to preview and test. Test also in PowerDVD or WinDVD if you got it.

Great Guide!!!

Wish I had that DVD to look at while I was reading... I'm trying to do the exact same thing w/ another DVD (I Spy)

Where did you Find which menu applied to which item? (you reference 40 for W/S and 41 for FullScreen)

Thanks
