mpeg2dec for v2.5
mainly @dividee: could you please re-compile your mpeg2dec for v2.5 as it seems to me as one of the best-tested around and therefor quite helpful for switching to v2.5 (as reference and 'working for sure')?
(of course only with YUY2-output) Thanks. |

@ Frank
I think you don't have to do the conversion because Convolution3DYV12 works in both YUY2 and YV12 colourspace. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Regards Assault EDIT: Ok I was wrong. Convolution3dYV12 works only in YV12 colourspace. Last edited by Assault; 7th January 2003 at 19:51. |

But, I think the problem is rather (lack of) documentation. I see there are many options. 1) I don't understand half of what they do. 2) The syntax is ... well ... let's say ... alternative. 3) Half of the things you must know about it, you have to dig through several large threads to figure out.

Actually the issues have not been fixed. I am still doing some
more testing, this time I have installed the latest avisynth 2.5 alpha dll. I did an avisynth2 encode of an MPEG2 clip fixed with Pvastrumento. Curiously this one gave me no problems and I converted this to KVCD (an MPEG1 encoding using Tmpgenc) and XviD. I will keep testing. Quote:

It turns out that the reported problems with mpeg2dec3_094 were due to other issues and not bugs in the DLL. Therefore, I have put on the back burner a YV12 version of dividee's filter.
However, I have rebuilt the YUY2 version with AvisynthPluginInit2() as requested by sh0dan. I have attached it. |

Donald,
The problems your speaking of were actually an issue with AVS 2.5 or different filters? I haven't heard MarcFD mention anything about it yet so was just curious.

hi.
compile an avs 2.5 mpeg2dec version is not a bad idea, i did it myself two months ago, didn't tought someone would found it usefull ^^. about YV12, it's the bigger change in MPEG2Dec3, so i don't think you can add it so easily IMHO. i think the minor bug is related to my conversion btw. |
