Yamb 1.3.2 released

too fast...

So, after some different builds, here is officially Yamb 1.3.2 release.

Changes from version 1.3.1 to 1.3.2 :
Quote:
Add:
- Pixels Aspect Ratio, TrackName, Interleaving for Import Settings.
- Tags support*.
- New function for the output file renaming.

Update:
- Some hints here and there.
- Copy/Execute command lines options which were disabled (right click on the MP4Box Command Line Form).

Bugfixes:
- Some access violations for extracting part.
- Subtitles remaining.
- few others.

*: You must have tg.exe to be able to tag your output file. I didn't included this tool into Yamb package because this is not mandatory and is not part of mp4box. In addition, too much few players are able to display these tags (the last Media Player Classic, iTunes...). And the most important, if you plan to add chapters files and tag your ouput file, chapters will be remove. However, if you're interested by this feature, you can grab this tool here: http://kurtnoise.free.fr/mp4tools/ (tg_mp4tagger).

As usual, you can grap the last release here for yamb.exe only or there for the whole package.

Enjoy..

According to Gabest's mp4 splitter, this is not stored in the same atom...

recently someone warned me that tg is not save to use as it seems to fuck up some atoms, also if you tag a file multiple times with it you will get duplicate atoms (look at them in dumpster), so tg is not save to use imho

edit:

I don't have quicktime 7.03 installed, so I can't say anything about that, but I see you testing with the "tg" binary. You should be careful with it.

After some.... massaging, I managed to compile it on Mac OS X. First of all, if your udta atom (I think) is over 200,000 bytes it bombs out (easily fixed). But then it also strips all but a handful of atoms in "moov.udta.meta.ilst". Granted, most I don't care about. On a sample iTunes purchases song, it worked: worked at stripping 21 atoms to 7. And it removed my "covr.data" atom. Besides that, while it deleted those atoms, all it did was make a "free" atom: 460kb worth of null space. That amounted to 11% - a heavy price if you do it a huge number of files.

Not to berate the author of the software, because I know we all start somewhere, and it was a good crack at it, but just know that that tagger isn't idyllic (although none really are), and there are compromises in using that tg.exe tagger.
and as i said it doesnt set the tags as utf-8, which is necessary

Then perhaps what we need is a totally separate "MetaData Editing" tool (for want of a more suitable name)?

Cheers

indeed, basically these are existing already, eg itunes or winamp do it correctly it seems

mp4tags and tg seem to be buggy tough so people might better not use it

Yes, tg.exe needs to get improved because only with a comandline tagger you can do do the things in one GUI or in one batchfile

I would like to mux MPEG4 (Nero Digital) with AC3 but YAMB doesn't support it. Why?

Because mp4box doesn't support it, which in turn doesn't support it because mp4 doesn't support AC3 (not counting private streams).

Strange...
MPEG4 ASP + AC3 5.1 is supported by many DVD players, no?
Any tool to do it?
