xvid and mencoder - corrupt headers?

I keep getting corrupt headers in avi's encoded with mencoder and xvid. s far as I could determine, it happens with different settings and I couldn't find any pattern yet. It does seem to happen after about 1 Gig file size, but that is not always the case.

Anyone else experience this?

BTW I'm using the latest versions of mencoder and xvid 1.0.0

I found the problem. There wasn't a problem with the avi as such, it was a bug in mplayer that didn't read the ODML header if the file size were between 1GB and 2GB. It's fixed in the latest CVS version.
