2.35 : 1 aspect ratio clips on DIVX players ?
I was reading throught specifications of a DIVX player:
"Aspect Ratio (4:3 Pan and Scan, 4:3 Letter Box and 16:9 Wide)" How would 2.35:1 films be displayed like? Are they stretched vertically to 16:9 ? Or they would be letterboxed even on a 16:9 screen? I am looking to buy one (not before the standardized DVD/DivX player test doom9 has initiated) so which standalone players handle 2.35:1 video properly and which don't? Ta |

Hi saptecai
If you are watching movies with an aspect ratio of 2.35:1 on an 16:9 (1.77:1) screen, then you 'will' see black horizontal bars. Infact nearly 33% of the screen will be black bars! Movies with an aspect ratio of 1.85:1 will display around 4% of black bars. Only movies with an aspect ratio of 1.77:1 or 1.78:1 (and there are not many of these) will fill an 16:9 screen with images only! Cheers
