It would seem that the MediaInfo tab in MPC-HC v1.8.3 is now DPI-aware since the text is no longer is tiny on my HTPC with 200% DPI scaling.

This will probably seem like a silly question, but how do I make proper screenshots with madvr/mpc-hc/be? I've tried the f5 function in mpc-hc and be but they are coming out with desaturated colors than the actual video when viewed in Windows. I have nvidia 1050ti. Any input is appreciated regarding how to take a proper screenshot with correct colors same as the actual video.Thank you!

The easiest way I've found is to simply change your output renderer to "Enhanced Video Renderer (custom presenter)" which will then result in screenshots that are pixel-for-pixel identical to the source video.

I believe madvr also has a screenshot function, but I personally have never used it (it may include the scaling/processing that madvr applies anyway).

How does it make it pixel-for-pixel identical, when the source most likely has subsampled chroma and 16-235 levels? I'm pretty sure at least some processing is required, and I would trust madVR more than anything else to do it properly.

In case of EVR-CP, screenshot is made after conversion to RGB and before resizing. If you use Madvr, then behavior can be customized:
madvr options > rendering > screenshots

Since MPC-BE was mentioned, I would say that it is possible to save the displayed frame (Shift + F5).

Thanks all for your replies. I found the issue with the support from a user in another forum. I changed the madVR setting from bt2020 to bt709. The problem solved, now I can have screenshots with actual colors as original video.

Did anyone experience out of sync issues as their MKV video keeps on playing? I don't think old editions have this issue, but it has come up on almost every single video that is longer than 30 min. Thanks,

Thank you for keeping this excellent video player alive, still nothing compares to it for PC users.

LAV Filters are included. You also don't need XySubFilter as it already contains a very good internal subtitle renderer.

MPC-HC doesn't show forced subtitles. I actually don't even know what forced subtitles are, but it feels like something is not correct when all others work fine.

Any ideas?

Color Profile Monitor

Hi,

I have a problem with the player, but I'm not 100% sure if the player made the issue or maybe madVr....

Every time I start the player and watch something my monitor color profile changes automatically, closing the player change it again to the old color profile in Windows. It only happens when I start the player with a video file, if I start the player without any file the color profile does not change.

It happens only with the MPC-HC v1.8.3, not with other players like MPV.

Any ideas?

Tobi

check the madVR option device-> "your device name"-> calibration -> disable GPU gamma ramps.
