Please post MediaInfo of your files, or MeGUI log when it crashes. FFMS2 build comes with MeGUI should handle 10-bit H.264 in MKV very well, methinks (I'm using my own build though).

Hmm... How can he has 10-bit H.264 video while he even doesn't know how to resize it with MeGUI?

few issues that have been long standing now, never did post them here however, so will do now. (although i feel they are bugs, i can't be sure if it's only happening to me.... which i think must be the case as no one else has reported this behaviour, so posting here instead) have done reinstalls, refreshes that king of thing)

1. oneclick now add an extra step in the process, PGCDEMUX, however it does this even when it appears it's not needed, take for example i RIP a DVD to g drive using DVDShrink in conjunction with ANYDVD, i only rip the main title with the one audio track with no subtitles, however oneclick pgcdemux seems to recreate the VOB files on the very same hard drive the ripped VOB files are located (not only is this a waste as i have already done this with DVDShrink but it also has a huge I/O impact as it's reading and writing from/to same hard drive, the old method did not do this, only two tasks were added (pgcdemux seems knew), i tried deleting the pgcdemux task but megui did not like that.

2. noticed it quite a while ago, sometimes Lame encoder gets stuck, i have managed to reproduce it, and found a way to stop it from happening, although the following sounds weird, it is true for me.

2a AC3/DTS to mp3 - Nicaudio sometimes produces spikes in the final output of the MP3 track (downmixing to stereo - keep source channels - DRC on - normalize 100) however if i use FFaudiosource, the mp3 output is fine, tried several times, nicaudio produces clipping spikes when FFAudio does not, it's reproducable on certain tracks, but does not happen on all tracks of course.

2b if i open the config page for audio - select source (nicaudio/FFaudio) that page, then turn on DRC, then close and agree when it asks to update profile, then try and do a audio encode, megui processes the first part, then opens up lame.exe, but lame gets stuck..... nothing happens, but here's the puzzler, if i go back into the audio config page, turn off audio normalization option but DRC is still left on, close and save to profile, now encode the same track again, it works, lame kicks in and does it's job, and this behaviour is reproducible for me, turn on normalization again, and megui - lame.exe open but just sits there and does nothing, one thing to note here however, if i turn of normalization option yet DRC is still on, if i close the config screen and open it back up, normalization is actually turned back on even though i turned it off!
this is the same with nic and FF alike. (svn2174)

nicaudio is running about half the speed that FFaudio does, is this normal?

nicaudio around 13.36 realtime AC3 to mp3
FFaudio around 29.80 realtime AC3 to mp3

i know some of the above is contradicting in a way, but i can't really explain any better, i have rewritten the above out a few times and tried to clean it up as best as possible, not that it has helped much i know.

2a) You should "normalize" to less than 100%. Sometimes the psychoacoustic removal of frequency components leads to the clipping during the encoding, because even the removed frequencies might have been limiting the volume with a negative factor.

2b) Normalization needs to gather statistics. It has to scan the whole audio once before it knows the loudest volume and can calculate the factor required to push this loudest sample to the desired target volume. Are you sure you waited long enough if it would continue eventually?

i monitor the proceeses, lame.exe is loaded but has 0% cpu utilization, but yes i have waited a longtime, when it first started to happen, like most would i wait for 10, then 20, longest 30minutes..... but with 0% cpu, lame is doing nothing added to the fact no HDD activity

tried the normalize less, 97% then 90%..... but like i said, when nicaudio was used which caused clipping, FFaudio would not..... i just use that all the time now FFaudio that is, so that problem was easy to get around, the other issue however.... is normalization actually on even when i turn it off after going back into the audio config screen, or is it just a false flag showing it's on but really it's not?

like i said above, turn on DRC and normalization, close with save to profile
now open config again, turn off normalization save and close
go back into audio config, and normalization has switched itself back on yet audio encoding still works fine for me..... however if i turn off normalization, then turn it back on (so click it twice), my encode won't work, lame hangs...... strange!!!!

Which is the best audio preset 128bit or 192bit, also i got a basic idea of like

1 create a d2v file and load it using avisynth script creator .

after that only i dont know like scripting cropping , what about the audio delay ? encode both audio and video together ,what about bitrate calculator how to find out the correct bit rate depends if i need 700MB or 1.45GB ?

How can i get rid of audio delay if it is too large usually u get audio stream saperate when u create d2vfile .

how can i get audio in sync with video and how to adjust that ?

some one please help me as i am a baby in ripping and dont know anything about it please help me learn ripping using megui software.

Usually it happens only when i use Pre-rendering job, infact now i'm encoding without it and it works. However it takes a lot of extra time (more than 6 hours); so i can't encode :/
I've resolved by myself reinstalling Avisynth MT. I downloaded the last version from here: http://code.google.com/p/avisynth-mt...n=2&q=AviSynth
Of course you've to unistall the previous version

This morning, infact, MeGui Update had an update about avisynth but, incredbly, it said that there was no avisynth installed O_o
So I've reinstalled it

Now MeGui works as good as before this problem

Cut the first 50 MB of the first file with DGSplit, upload it to mediafire.com, then post the link here.

Also post your full script.

Uh, your script has this:

DelayAudio(86519.0/1000.0)

That's an 86 second delay you are imposing! You need to change that.

If DGIndex reported a huge delay also, then you do need to provide the file. You may have the dreaded 'black video at the start with no audio' problem too.

Looking at your log I see the demuxed file has the big delay. I need the file I asked for. The first 50 MB of the first file that you loaded into DGIndex.

You can also try reloading the files in DGIndex, then doing > to skip all black video at the start, and then hit [, finally save your project.

If MEGUI did it with one click or something, then you have to do it manually.

Do you see black video at the start? I don't like to play 20 questions so please try to respond to all the information and suggestions you are given. Thank you.

This task will be added if the selected DVD/VOB has more than one PGC. If you have more than one HDD you should specify the working directory to be on a different drive than input and ouput.
EDIT: Please post the log so that we can see if the input has more than one PGC.

i already specified temp directory on h in settings, i then mux outputs to e or z, now having to set ANOTHER temp directory..... it's getting quite silly with all these temp directories to be honest and i get confused sometimes where everything is..... can't you add more abilities in global setting regarding temps like DVD-Rebuilder does

temp folder
working folder
default output folder
default pgcdemux folder

kind of thing.....

as for log, next time i do a batch of encodes i keep the logs.... probably next week sometime now

You have only three directories in OneClick mode:

- Input folder
- Working directory (temp)
- Output folder

The default working (and output) directory can be specified in the OneClick profile settings.

I think that these three directories are sufficient. Main HDD activity is during demux (input --> working) and mux (working -> output).

Any video without matching audio at the start is potentially going to be an issue. Please provide the file I asked for. Without it, I cannot advise you of the proper solution to the problem. Again, I need the first 50MB of the first VOB that you loaded into DGIndex to make the project. Open the VOB in DGSplit, select chunks, 50MB, and check Stop after 1. Then hit Split. Upload the resulting file to mediafire.com and post the link here.

DG*Dec was made to process only one PGC; indexing a VTS with several PGCs (you can't see that only by looking at the VOB files!) is one of the most common reasons of asynchronous audio.

That means: Either rip your DVD with a DVD Ripper set up in "IFO mode" or in "Movie mode" or whatever it is called, so that only the main movie gets extracted, not the whole DVD with all extras.

Or, if you already ripped the whole DVD, use PGCDemux to extract only one PGC from the whole DVD content.

And, well, as already told: There are many tutorials and basic guides one should already know before deciding to use an advanced tool like MeGUI which was made for already experienced users. MeGUI does not even do the "ripping" (means: the copying from the DVD to the harddisk, and possibly the decrypting). It only does the conversion. But the user is expected to have basic knowledge about DVD-Video already.

The very latest versions now introduced PGC handling. But this feature is so new, I do not yet know how users are supposed to use it. I have to learn this part just like others...
