Worth a read, at the very least...

Haven't tried it myself, as yet, and MB1 doesn't seem overly-impressed, but nevertheless, this thread is thought-provoking at the very least:

Not my way to go...
I prefer to capture a type-2 DV AVI and convert it to DivX through VirtualDub and its fabulous filters (have you ever tried the DeNoise filter?)

Thanks for the tip, but I always transcode to MPEG2, for authoring DVDs.
