Bug report.

Entering 1080p60 in custom display switching in MadVR results in two instances of madHcCtrl in Task Manager. MPC (any version I think) crashes because of this. It only happens on the secondary display. If I open MPC on the main PC display and hit play it only loads one instance of MadVR. 1080p23 only loads one instance on any display. Just tested with 0.58 which does not exhibit this behaviour.

OK I've looked a little deeper and it appears to be that in 0.61 when switching to 60Hz from another refresh rate MadVR is not releasing the previous instance or is loading a new instance of madHcCtrl. If the display is already set to 60Hz it only loads one instance. In 0.58 when it switches there only ever remains a single instance of madHcCtrl.

10 is better. And it seems like HAM uses OpenCL technology, not Stream.

I haven't noticed a difference between 9, 10 and 11, I can only do smoothly up to 24p, and that's just barely. Is there a link to more info on this, and how it's using OpenCL?

If that doesn't help, Cyberlink's PowerDVD 9, 10 and 11's decoder can be used in "HAM" mode with madVR to use ATI Stream and that relieves the CPU a bit, but it doesn't work well for some of us. You can still try it though.

I think most phones can do it these days...

Personal experience only. Links to russian forums won't help to mach I guess. In short words: 10 works a bit better with bad encoded videos.

Some people found HAM showing Bitstream with Nvidia cards. If that's true, HAM doesn't use ATI Stream and what is left? Can't check it by myself.

Does Cyberlink HAM mode provide access to hardware deinterlacing (vector adaptive?)?

If your display refresh rate is higher then the video frame rate, madVR will need to repeat a frame once in a while to keep sync with audio in check. If your refresh rate is lower then the audio, it'll have to drop frames.

If you do not see them, then don't worry too much about it. Maybe madVR will at some point be able to track repeated frames as well, which would give you an indication if the estimated statistic was right.

my refresh rate for 23.976 is 23.977 so i would have thought that the repeated frames would be a lot less tham every few minutes?

Every ~9.5 minutes, if my calculation isn't totally off.

If you let ReClock do its job, then yes, it'll make that better.

Can't say. In my system for 1080i video CPU load is about ~50%, deinterlacing looks ok, CCC keeps VA stable. You can take 1080i video and check the difference with EVR CP for HAM and DXVA. I didn't try it.
UPD. Look at that post: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showp...1&postcount=14

How do you get subtitles when using madVR. I have MPC-HC 3104 (x86) and madVR 0.61 and I just can't get subtitles to work. The .srt file has the same file name and is in the same folder but still it doesn't load, and when I drag and drop the .srt file into the MPC-HC window, playback stops and it says 'cannot render the file'.

Help.

I am using amd x6 1090t with asus gtx 580 direct cuii on my htpc with lg pk550 full hd tv. i want the maximum possible quality settings for 1080p playback. Are there any hints, twekas, mods that can use full specs of my graphics card about madvr? Thanks.

Yes but you need a powerful system to run MadVR + realtime frame interpolation. (if by frame interpolation you meant something like frame doubling)

Check out InterFrame

madshi, I have 1080i59, 1080p23, and 1080p50 in that order, in the auto rate change options. When I play a 59/60p video, madVR switches to the 23p option. Is it supposed to work that way? I'd rather have it switch to 1080i59. I don't have 1080p59 in the options cause I'd rather have the 29.97 fps videos play at 1080i59, and if I have 1080p59 there, 1080i gets ignored in its favor.

What is the minimum system to achieve MadVR and FI such Interframe/SVP?

Please list the least expensive configurations neccessary to achieve Madvr+FI on 1080p

Thanks

Also, which is best bang for the buck for HTPC applications

NVIDIA or AMD?
