Improve forum performance with "Page Speed"

Hello,

I just learned about the program "Page Speed"
it is a plugin for firefox much like Yslow

These programs analyse the performance of a webpage, and give advice based on best practices to improve the performance.

I have only used Page Speed and it also automatically optimizes everything it can do itself, the rest it gives advice on how to change the existing code to further improve performance.

By simply applying the "simple" results from the tool will result in a reduction of more than 75% of the data transfered and speed up performance by at least 25% on top of that.

I suggest the forum (and website) get run through these programs by the site admin to reduce cost and improve performance for all end users.

I forgot to mention, that there is a dedicated "how to get my site as fast as possible" page too:

http://code.google.com/speed/

And they even have a "most effective webpage" tool: https://www.google.com/accounts/Serv...Fhl%3Den&hl=en
Its mostly aimed at sales, but it should work for most sites.

well the website is static HTML, and has several mirors; so it doesn't really need much. The forums however I agree could sometimes use some magic - but swede seems to keep on top if it pretty well

Yeah the site speed has improved a lot.
This tool just offers some free speedups (takes about 5 minutes to run through the server and replace the files)

also these optimisations really help for mobile phones, where bandwith is payed per MB used.
