FFmpeg supports ALAC encoder now...

Since revision 14849, FFmpeg supports natively a new lossless audio encoder, ALAC. Thanks to Jaikrishnan Menon for the hard work.

We have 3 ALAC encoder available from now. All free of course...Which one would you like to use ?

Compression seems to be similar to FLAC so I see no miracles. However I appreciate hard work made by Jaikrishnan Menon!

Haha! Now I can keep my losslessly compressed files just that, lossless!! Of course, i refer to my ipod. Actually has anyone tested if this works for the ipod. I assume it will 100%, but it is a free encoder that has been newly committed. If it works, then I'll right me up a nice batch script right a way and get converting. This is the reason I got a 160gb ipod!!! Wooohoooo!!!

Wow, so it compresses faster, and better than the Apple implementation.

This is good news. I wanted to try it but I don't know how to use it. Where I must insert the working command line. I would like to use this with EAC (exact audio copy).

Great! Thank you very much. So it's different command-line.
