Odd, will test with a AC3 DVD, but AC3 audio in AVI's definitely aren't being decoded by my sound card via SPDIF (and yes it did work that way before)
Edit: Seems it's not a Media Player Classic problem, appologies, just noticed it when I upgraded to the new build. Will have to try and reinstall my sound card drivers or something, it may be that. Edit 2: Seems my Auzentech X-Fi Prelude does not have the decoding function my Creative X-Fi had. :-/ Oh well Last edited by BrainDedd; 11th December 2007 at 01:03. |

Found a little bug using the internal MpegTS/PS/PVA filter. If that same file is being used by another application (for example, bittorrent), it seems to be unable to cashe the file properly or something, because it causes unwatchable stutter. Runs fine when said application is closed, and runs fine when the internal MPC filter is disabled (but unfortunately the internal Windows filter is inferior). Also runs fine in WMP11. And Haali splitter works fine too (but results in me having no audio with .vob w/ PCM audio).
Nothing to do with the machine, my PC is plenty powerful for it, and only happens when another application is actively accessing the same file (even if it's on another machine in the network). Tested .ts and .mpg files specifically. |

I have just realised that subtitle database stuff has been removed from the options. Why?
I sometimes found it quite useful in combination with opensubtitles database. Could it be brought back within the next update? Thanks for keeping MPC alive. |

Was it working? Last time I tried it lead to a broken link, that's the reason it was removed

I was just trying MPC-HC, and I seem to have a problem with EVR-Custom. If I try to change subtitles, playback stops, and sometimes MPC totally freezes. This does NOT happen with VMR9-custom, only with EVR-Custom. Usinv MPC-HC 1.0.11.4, but also happens with MPC-HC 1.0.11.0. OS is Windows Vista 64bit

Edit: I have just checked that the database option under Subtitles options has been removed, at least in the last update, file "mplayerc_20071206.zip" @Casimir666 Are you sure you are using the same release? Thanks. Last edited by nestul; 4th January 2008 at 02:31. |

It was re-added some time ago in SVN with a new working URL. There just isn't a fresh build available yet on sourceforge. I'll update it soon (when I have nothing better to do).

These are only minor changes. I would not call it development.

Looks like people are (still) confused about all 3 MPC projects:

I'm not confused about the different projects but confused about the fact why it has to be like it is...
why not combine them into one project with all the latest bells and whistles HC got for example, include the latest filters/ splitter and develop from that moment onwards...

I'm using MPC HC from Casimir on XP SP2 with an ATI HD2600XT using the latest 7.12 drivers, the EVR support in XP is awesome.
I'm also using the PS 2.0 sharpen filter, which works very nicely only 3 problems : 1) If I enable PS 2.0 resize in the OUTPUT options, I get "ghost" lines........vertical or horizontal depending on the resolution.... If I disable 3D surfaces, I don't get any output I'm outputting YV12 from ffdshow and CoreAVC...If I set them to YUY2 I do get a picture with "2D surfaces" but it never starts playing. here's a screenshot, there's several "ghost" lines right in the middle of the image on the driver's arm and the car windshield : any idea what I could do ? software Bilinear upscale sucks, would software 4X Lanczos be possible ?! both KMPlayer's EVR implementation and Haali's Renderer are using AF to resize........any chance doing the same in MPC HC ? or maybe a bug fix could do the trick ? 2) is it possible to send YV12 or YUY2 to EVR instead of RGB32, so there's no lossy conversion ? it was possible in KMPlayer. 3) Reclock never had any problem to get the framerate from KMPlayer, but with MPC HC it hardly ever works... Thank you for your time, Last edited by leeperry; 7th January 2008 at 05:31. |
