Am I correct to assume that this is a binary splitter like DGSplit?

Well, it looks very powerful, but also way more complex than I would like. I will stick with DGSplit...

Keep in mind that binary splitters can only cut multimedia files correctly if the file format does not use global headers. Have a look here:
