Well damn, how bout that. I always had my suspicions that ifo edit was the cause of this problem, I even asked Derrow if he could look into it (in this thread if anyone was wondering:

I guess now we know for sure, and with a very easy method to reproduce the problem. Maybe now it would be a little easier to debug?
