I'll just put it out there: if you're handy at actually writing¹ QuickTime components, one for AviSynth+ would be welcome (especially if, really crazy, the component would also work with the QuickTime version(s) on Tiger and Leopard). That would resolve the thread topic as well, as you wouldn't have to convert anything so long as the script can play back in real time.

¹as I would doubt that you could just take the version of libavformat/avisynth.c from 4.3 or git and copy it backward (with the applicable backports to configure as well) into the version of FFmpeg you used to successfully build Perian/FFusion (but who knows?).
