Yeah I was pretty sure it was a problem with Audition but thought that someone who knew more about how DVD-A Explorer saved its WAV files might be able to help me. I fixed the problem by setting ffdshow to handle all WAV files. According to some websites I have visited, high resolution and/or surround sound WAV files can only be played back natively if they are in WAVE EXTENSIBLE format and the files I was saving were in PCM format, which cannot be played back natively (due to Microsoft not implementing backwards compatibility properly, sigh).
