I guess this is not just philosophical. This is mainly a classical question about reference frame (RF), in the Physics point of view. Both, sound and light (image), have constant speed, being just a question of choice what of those you will use as RF. If your RF is the image, you can
hear the delay/ahead of. If the RF is the sound, you can
see the ahead of/delay.

Nobody with a healthy brain (->decoder) has a Personal A/V delay. However, if you are 40 meters far from the speakerphone, you can hear a delay of almost 120ms even if the movie have no async.
