I usually get when thinking about this conversion stuff.
Isn't it: I expect 24 progressive frames in a sec, but there are only 23.976
--> in the timespan I expect 1000 progressive frames, there are only 999
==> one frame drop, not a dup

But really, I'm unsure from which direction I have to put the saddle on the horse.

Ah, while cooking some coffee, I got it.
By the time I think I have the 1000th frame, the source has only progressed to the 999th frame, and I have to wait one frame -> a DUP!
I feel enlightened now

Well, we could try "SmartDecimate( (24*1000)-1, 25*1000, ...)" - but somehow, I have the feeling that's not really a good idea ...
