mfd->gvalue etc are of type int and contain values mixed for multiple channels. Sort of optimized version.
To understand this you have to compare how lookup tables are filled vs how they are used. For you: impossible.
IMO all it makes sense to do with this is to feed input and grab output, and just leave what is inbetween intact.
