Actually there is. If you know how your display is calibrated, you can tell madVR about that in the display "properties" page. If you don't know how your display is calibrated, you can still play with those settings by using test patterns etc to find out which settings give you the most natural image. This way you can find out by try-and-error which calibration settings are probably nearest to how your display behaves. Be careful with this, though. If you change the settings to make one specific movie look good, maybe another movie will look twice as bad. So better use official calibration discs for playing around.
