Do they have the same socket?

There are "Core i" processors with different sockets in existence. At least LGA 1155, LGA 1156, LGA 1366 and LGA 2011 are used. And these don't even include the "mobile" variants

So unless you tell us the exact model name, we can't tell you if yours are pin-compatible...
