I'm interested to know what kind of hardware can't handle proper deinterlacing to 50p/60p (besides broken Arrandale of course
). A low-end nVidia GT 430 can handle it perfectly well. That'd have to be some ancient Radeon....either that or he's chosen algorithms too demanding for his GPU, in which case it'd surely be better to choose a less demanding algorithm than lose
half of the temporal resolution of the image.
