Saves time ripping????? How about ripping to the HDD saves you from having a Blu-Ray drive die prematurely. If that argument doesn't sway you, I would think the slow transfer rate of the optical drive would be enough to sell you on the idea of working from a folder on the hard drive.

I don't see where working from the optical drive is handy under any circumstances. The possibility for errors is exponentially greater, it would seem.
